You can purchase a new power supply from a local computer vendor or even online. You do NOT necessarily have to get a power supply that is made specifically for a E-machine.

Power supply humming

I think you have a 110 volt machine on which you are using a step down transformer. If so it seems that the voltage from the transformer is high or the current factor requirement is also insufficient . which can produce the hum or heat. Make sure the voltage is steady or else you will need to use a stabilizer or a proper power supply that is actually catering to the requirement of the machine. You have not mentioned the power factor of the machine and i suspect that the power supply used externally is insufficient.

My whirlpool washing machine power supply not showinhg and when switched on it dost not switch on

Possible that you need to check from the main power switch. Check the power supply outlet, check the power plug to the mains wire to the washer's program controller unit. If there is power till the power supply on the washer then there is failure within the unit and needs a change. Estimate and Confirm

No it is not neccassary to use a E-machine power supply if your previous one has become faulty. You can use any one as long as it has the required power rating.

Cheaper to replace the machine than buy a power supply - unless you find a parts machine somewhere.

Where can I find the spec of the ptgd-vx sony Vaio

Not sure really what you are asking.
As a general rule, I use a 350-400 watt power supply in my systems.
This is adequate power for most modern machines (gaming machines would be higher). The motherboard doesn't care what size power supply you put into the machine. It gets the same voltage from any of them. The power supply must have the proper power plugs to fit the motherboard, however. All modern power supplies will have what you need.
Check out your graphics card, too. It may require power from the power supply.

If this helps, be sure to rate the answer, please.

E-machine Model D2246 does not power up

E-machines are notorious for having weak power supplies. Although not impossible, it is unlikely the motherboards are damaged.

You may also look online for rebuilt power supplies that are beefed up from the originals.

Be sure you have a good surge suppressor and surge suppression on your phoneline if you use dialup. I also recommend surge suppression on your ethernet connection as well.

Power supply

Not sure what you requesting as information but to install a power supply is easy (make sure it's not plugged in obviously). Take off the case...it's right there. Unscrew from the outside to remove and install new. One word of caution...I am not a big fan of E-Machines "past"....motherboards and power supplies were (are?) major failure items with these machines. If you wish to know what supply to use check what you have and then go to pricewatch.com to find one....note, it need not be the same brand (preferable probably) but it does need to have the same dimensions and wattage. Trust this helps...Tango
