Generally it means set is not making it from standby to on.

Problem could be in power supply or elsewhere.

A brand and model number might shed light on what to look for here.

You either have broken power board or main board. Power board - blinking 2 per second, main board 3 times per second. In an case it has to be fixed by a technician.

Hello.

if the blue lights keep flashing you have shorted parts inside. usually the inverter board have a shorted IC, try to remove the connector from inverter then try again..

if your blue lights lit replace the inverter which you disconnect.

Hello there,
The problem with the television simply is that the lamp is bad and need to be replaced. When you were having the flashing standby light, it was simply indicating that there is a problem inside the unit. The problem could be from anywhere inside the unit.
Since you have checked the power board and saw that it was okay, it is qiute clear that the problem is not from the power board as it was powering up but the main board was not using up the power that is why the power light was flashing.
The solution to this problem is for you to check the main board and other boards in the television for bad capacitors. Have them replaced once they are found and then check the lamp of the television. That also should be replaced and the teleivision should be in good shape once again.
Hope this was helpful to you. Goodluck Elect_Comp

Take the back off and Look for the PSB-Power supply board in the center of set. Look for 2 Blown UF capacitors on the PSB. A bas cap will be bulged or split at the top (X). Recaping is failry cheap. Under 20 bucks if you DIY.

Check the horizontal output transistor (H.O.T.) next to the flyback transformer. If it is shorted, the switching supply won't turn on.
