I'm not sure I follow all of waht you are doing and /or did however, this card requires a minimum 400w power supply so, make sure you have the power. It may or may not be a factor. These cards can be tricky sometimes and I will start by saying, the install should have gone in this order: Install the card, boot your system and insert your CD. Start by downloading all drivers and "utilities" from CD. You will not get all the bells and whistles taht come with the card unless you get them from the CD or, possibly from Sapphire, and reboot. Check in "programs and features" and device manager to make sure you see your device. Once you have done this, you can then upgarde your drivers from respective sites, AMD, Sapphire, etc. You definately have to unisatall all prior software that has anything to do with ATI/AMD prior to installing new software.You can do a custom uninstall and install here. At his point, I would go into "programs and features" and unistall all ATI/AMD software and start over. Any software from existing cards as well. You also need to reboot after each unistall or install. Where are you getting this 1250 from? Is it from the CD? This is alot to swallow and if I am missing something let me know. I can help you with the upgrade of the VGA driver nut, lets see if this works and, taht I am on the right track. Contact me at "add a comment".

You amy already know but, your board is mainly Intel with, 945GC and ICH7 chipstets and Intel GMA950 graphics. Has realtek ALC883 for onboard sound. I'm not sure whether you mean crashed, froze, or what. Do you have a graphics card? Was it running slow before "halt". Have you tried to reset and if so what happened. Could you please provide what system you have,ie; Dell, HP, etc., model number, waht version of windows your running and, if you have a graphics card, a make and model # on that If your running Windows 7 there may be compatabilty problems with old software. If you need drivers you can get them here;

I just recieved my 785gtm-e45 from msi that was replaced oe no video through the vga or dvi ports n an rma and now i installed my MOBO and now I have no video through the vga or dvi ports???

Aparently there have been some very bad reviews about the ATI 4200 chip on this board. I'm not sure what you bought it for but, if was for gaming you might want to upgarde to a PCIe card. I'm not going to paste the site btu Newegg has the reviews. How did you get ypur drivers for the board? I beleive your going to have to put some time in to making this card work. I am a firm believer that the initial software package should be from an installation cd but thats it. I've even done custom installs and left the garphics drivers out only to immediately download them from AMD. Waht i would try is an uninstall of all software and reinstall and try again. If that doesn't work, or at least I would do it anyway, either install the all software off of cd or, do a custom install and leave out the integrated driver whuch you can get from AMD. AMD's site;
Good luck with this and if you have any questions, let me know at "add a comment"
