Yes, it does help. I don't have a MC10000, or MC11000 but I know that many people had problems after upgrading to 11000. I assume you still have the dongle for the computer. Another thing that seems to be important is the size of your flash card. It can't be larger than 512mb., otherwise your machine won't recognize it. But on to your question. Assuming you have a the PC card and reader attached to your computer. After your new embroidery file is downloaded, check to see if it is a file with .zip if so you'll need to unzip the file in order to use it. I don't recall if win. 97 had that on board or not., So you might need to download and install an unzipper software. After it's unzipped and saved where you can find the file, make sure you scan it for viruses. Then make sure it's in embroidery file format. (.JEF). To move the any file... you right click the start button, and click explore. Open the location of the file and make note of where the PC card resides on the file system. Click the embroidery file and drag it down to the PC card file folder. I assume you also have the software to do editing and digitizing. If you do, it may be easier for you to simply open the file in the software... then save it to the PC card location.

Keep in mind that some of the files from the net are not so great. I've had some that were so dense with stitches it actually broke needles.

Oh an one more thing. Before you try to save to your flash card... put it in the embroidery machine so it can format the folders. Embroidery machine, Computer... back to embroidery machine.

SOURCE: I have a #1 machine

If you purchase a reader/writer unit with a rewritable memory card in the format for your machine, you will not need additional cards.

Copy the designs from the CDs to the hard drive or insert the CD as you need to access a certain design and then copy the selected designs to the memory card.

The card can only store a certain number of designs and then you reload when you want a different design.

You can get this unit from a sewing machine dealer, but they are less expensive on-line.

Always check with the vendor before purchasing to be sure the unit will work with your brand/model and machine embroidery format.

SOURCE: can I transfer a pattern from brother 4000d machine to usb

Welcome to Fix Ya!
Are you trying to transfer a built-in pattern from your machine to a USB flash drive? I'm not sure if built-in designs can be transferred in their original form. You might try editing the design a bit, save it to a memory space, then save it to the memory stick. If you have a manual, it should describe how to move designs from your embroidery machine to your computer, and vice versa.
If you are other readers have time to rate my answer, you'll help me become a better expert. If you can give me more specific information about what happens when you try to upload a design from your machine, and whether you have a manual feel free to leave a comment and I'll check back with you.   Cheers, Ginny

My wife has a Janome 5700 Memory Craft sewing machine along with a number of Janome memory cards containing embroidery designs. Is it possible to transfer the designs from these memory cards to her Windows...

I don't have a 5700,mine is a 9000 but the cards that came with mine are a plastic aprox 1 inch square. This machine came out before there was any type of interface to connect to a back up system ie; USB or firewire. I would assume that if you can download new patterns from the internet, than you could back them up.If your machine does not have that capability then you will just have to find new memory cards for you machine online and order them.

How do you place an embroidery design from a card into the machine memory? I have a ESe2. Thanks!

For the Brother NV1500 (aka Babylock Esante ESE2).

Bring the embroidery design onto the screen.

Press the save button in the upper right of the screen.(it looks like a pocket)

See pages 141 to 143 of your instruction manual "Saving Embroidery Patterns In The Machine's Memory"

How to I randfer embroidery designs on a flash

If the designs are already on a formatted* flash drive and in the format of the embroidery machine and the embroidery machine has an USB Port-A receptacle, you just plug it into the machine.

If the flash drive was not formatted for the Janome, then this may help -

Get a new flash drive and start fresh.

Create a folder on the PC's hard drive and name it Embroidery Downloads and copy or send from the flash drive you now have. Keep the flash drive as a backup.

After you format the new flash drive, you can then copy as needed from the Embroidery Downloads folder. Just do a couple.

Downloading embroidary designs for the Janome MC 350E

Firstly, format your compact flash card on your embroidery machine. This is presuming you have embroidery files in your jef format your machine reads on your computer. Place your compact flash in the compact flash card reader writer connected to your computer, open the compact flash card in your computer, open the file emb5. Now you can simply copy and paste a design from your computer to your flash card. It works for me. Goodluck.
