You most like have a blockage in the vacuum hose or the filter is choked with dust. Clear the blockage and filter and the suction will return to normal.

SOURCE: My vacuum cleaner is not sucking. It's overheated and stopped

In this case it is motor problem, you can sort out only by calling the technician. Call the customer care and check out the cost for repair, if it is very high you can go for a new one and be in peace of mind.

Thank you.

I just had the same problem, the vac wouldn't suck in. Turned out to be because the filter was WET. It works great when I take the filter off before sucking up water or liquids! Not sure if this applies in your case, but definitely something to keep in mind. : )

My oreck vacuum has stopped sucking up things.

It won't turn the brush because the belt is stretched or broke from the heat of sucking something too big up. If you have your service manual it should show you the location of the belt covers to replace it.

The vacuum shuts down once it's used for about 20 minutes - overheating? If anybody has any ideas, give me a shout.

Seems to be a common problem with the Euro-Pros. They happen to wrap their motors with a foam filter. This acts as an insulating blanket, retaining a ton of heat. I removed mine, and so far, it works a lot better.
