Question about Galaxy Radios DX-2517 CB Radio
Seems the radio was struck by lightening.. from inspecting the antenna that was disintegrated was my first clue. I am looking for a good technical repair manual like Photo Fact or something like that.. I own the owners manual but looking for more information. on tracking down what parts are blown.
Check CBtricks.com and see what they have

I can only share your grief. I had a nice Galaxy DX11B hit by lightning. Blew a Ham IV rotor completely off its tower shelf and the control box fried. Fried the Gamma Matchers on a Moonraker 4. Destroyed a Heathkit SB220 amp. Melted 2 runs of Belden RG-213 120 ft pieces of coax. As far as the radio, it runined the chassis too far to fix it. Too many parts were cooked including the transformer. Ever seen a 35 yr old man cry?! Good luck anyhow.
PS Thank God for home owners insurance. Thanks Farmers!!!

If it got hit by lightning your best off selling it for parts on ebay it wont ever be the same even if you have a tech fix it. Trust me i know from experience.
