SOURCE: Dell inspiron 1545 laptop and the same webcam problem.

open your my computer, click on "c" the system will tell you the information is hidden, click on the link and open up the operating system and look in the drivers or there in C and se if you can find you web cam driver, when you find it you might have to force the opening of the driver to install, and once you do that plug your web cam in and see if the system see's it and installs the drivers for the cam, if you installed the driver origanally witht he web cam installed you will have to remove the web cam and unistall the driver and re install it and then plug the web cam back in, and that should help correct the problem.

SOURCE: The Audio in my webcam central won't seem to work

I have a Dell 1545 with Dell web cam central & I've had this issue. The problem is that Dell web cam central installs it's own microphone settings onto your laptop called something like Dell web cam Live!. This isn't the built in microphone in my laptop & maybe not yours either. You have to change the settings for your computer system & Dell web cam central. Go to start> control panel> sound> recording .. on mine there is an option for Microphone "High Definition Audio Device" ... that is the built in mic. You want that for your default & apply it. Then open Dell web cam central & go to the "Record Video's" option. In the middle of this is an orange button with a video camera icon. Next to this on the same button is a little arrow pointing down .. click that. Under microphone .. choose Microphone "High Definition Audio Device" just like the sound option in control panel. I've done this & it's completely fixed. I can record videos with sound & use my built in mic in voice/video chat.

SOURCE: dell latitude e6400 laptop webcam?

For the Dell Latitude E6400 The Webcam is actually optional. To check whether you have it on your laptop look at the top of your screen. On the left of the display latch, you are supposed to find 3 items there if you have a webcam. The left most side is the microphone, so it is actually a very small hole, followed by a small light, the indicator for the webcam and a small circular one that is the webcam. If you do not have any of these on the left side of that latch then your latitude did not come with a webcam.

The small hole is most likely a built in microphone. Web cams are usually at the top of the screen.

How can I use my dell latitude 2110 webcam with camera function ?

Most computers with webcams have a program already installed to access it. I would search for "webcam" or "camera" in your search tool for programs. There are also a variety of free programs you can download that will allow you to use your webcam.

How to install webcam on my latitude e6400 dell computor

What webcam are you trying to install. Most of the time it will be a USB connect webcam and you can follow the directions that cam with the webcam. If you do not have the directions or software to the webcam, do a search on the particular cam (Name, Model Number) to find the software so it can install the supported drivers.
Hope this helps-

Web cam on latitude e6500

I have same problem. I downloaded the latest webcam driver, installed it. Everything is fine, in the device manager the device are present. But when i try to load the webcam application from dell the device is not present or not installed appear.
Notice: if I try the YM webcam, the device work properly - that's mean the device driver is OK.
So the E6500 is a beautiful great notebook, with poor software.
