I am using your SAMTRON 73V flat monitor 4th year. Several month ago it did start to block after more than one hour time of use. The time of proper work did gradually drop down, to recent about 10 minutes, what is to short for doing any taks. The blocking of the monitor appears as: moving round the screen a warring window with message 'not optimum settings, use 1280x1024x60Hz' by total lack of contact with the computer. It is not possible to change actual settings using monitor keys. After switching off the terminal for not less than about 10 min. and resetting the computer, the terminal can work properly next 10 minutes. The optimum settings (shown in the warring window: 1280x1024x60Hz) of the terminal adjusted from Windows control panel do not allow to get proper work of the terminal in any future attempts. The workshop: VIDEO SERVICE os. Pod Lipami 1d 61-628 Poznan, Poland e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org tel: +48 61 8205688, told me one hour ago that they are unable to find proper integrated circuit to be replaced. They would expect to solve this problem if you send the electrical scheme (diagram) of this monitor on their address (regular or e-mail) given above. Sounds like the power On/Off switch has been damaged. Replace it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. This problem is caused by the Novatek chip on the video board. Soldering a 50 Ohm Resistor across pins 5 and 6 of this chip resolves the problem on both the Samtron and the Samsung monitors. I have just corrected one of these last night by this means.
Hope that helps
There are three Cathod Ray guns responsible for the millions of colors. All colors are produced by mixing the three basic colors namely Red Green and Blue (RGB) at suitable proportion. If any one of the three guns fail firing then we get improper colors. This can be rectified by
(1) hitting the monitor at the back by keeping it on a pillow the screen facing down - it will reolve the problem if the failure is due to the loosening of the Head due to repeated thermal expansion and contaction.
(2) check the signal cable for loose connection, twisting etc on both ends - at the back of the CPU and Monitor (it is fixed)
TRY YOUR LUCK
As you are not able to see red color on your monitor means you will be seeing
your problem is that red signal is not coming to red cathode of your crt.
1 connector loose(cpu to monitor)
2 crt base loose.
3 loose or print or dry near red cathode circuit
4 red video output.
5 red signal from processor to red video is missing
6 processor ic.
AS hit the monitor on its top the color changes to normal. so what can i do
AS IT COMES TO normal position after hitting that cleary indicates that there is no parts failure.
1 there is a loose contact in or near crt base.
2 loose contact in connector.
3 computer to monitor cable loose.
