Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
Thats a little vague - sounds like a hardware fault.
Go for the easy things first:
I'd try either swapping Ram (or pull out 1 of the 2 simms to check if either is faulty).
Disconnect Hard disk and see if it will POST (obviously it wont get much further)
Reset the CMOS (you will have to open the Laptop in most cases - nightmare for beginners).
