It is increasing temp 2 hours before scheduled

Most programmable thermostats are "smart stats" which use a programmed algorithm base on a preprogrammed P (proportional) I (Integral) D (derivative) Loop. To make a long story short, the programmed temperature will make the room that temperature by the programmed time. This is based on how long it has taken it in the past to bring the room up or down to temperature. So if your setpoint is 70, and your set time is 7 AM, then the furnace or AC will bring the room to that temperature by the set time...not start at the set time.

We have pro2000 set at 70.the temp goes to 64 or below before it turns on.what do I need to do?

Try resetting your thermostat and checking all time and temp settings in your programming. I have found that usually it's the thermostat programming that defaults back to a certain temp after a certain time period. Here is a link to the installation instructions to help your further.

What does temporarry and hold mean on thermostat

Sounds like you have a programable thermostat. the temporary setting is when you change the temp setting to a different temp and it will stay at that setting until the next programed change. The hold setting is to hold the temp setting you have chosen for an indefinate time. It overrides your programed settings.

Lost program instructions freezing

Hi, on a programmable stat, you should be able to raise the temp with the arrow and then push hold temp. feature. This will hold the desired temp and get you heat unless you have a stat problem. Try this and let me know the settings. If this didn't work, make sure the stat is in the auto-heat posistion. Push program and set the time.press again and set the day of week. Repeat this step and set the desired temp for each day of the week and week-end and push run program. You should hear it click on. It takes a min. or so on heat as there is a delay. Make sure the batteries are strong as they run the program. Let me no. Best of Luck, Sincerely, Shastalaker7

I set the tstat manualy for 77 and when we wake up it reads83 what? thanks

You have a pre-programmed thermostat. You'll need to put in settings for each program setting in order to have the thermostat provide you with the heating/cooling temperatures you want at each time period of the day and for each day of the week (in the case of a 7 day programmable model.

Whenever you put in a manual temperature setting, it is only a temporary setting that will get reset at the next pre-programmed temp setting, unless you set the "HOLD TEMP" setting and select the number of days you want it to hold the temp you manually set on the T-stat.

If you can provide the model number, I can help you further with the programming of your T-stat.

Hope this helps and best regards!

Thanks.

How do I get my honeywell system up and going?

for now, put switches on thermostat to hear and press the up arrow button to the desired temp. All your programed temps will take more explaining and it would be best you secure a owners instruction book from home depot. oif anything, buy thr same thermostat and either keep it or return it . I'd keep it regardless, read the pmphlet, program you heat and a/c before returning for refund. Don't destroy packaging and give them back everything. You will also need two AAbatteries. Good luck.

Thermostat does not stop heat pump unit

Most of these problems are the program settings on these way overcomplicated thermostats. You will need to re-read the instructions on setting the programs. Or bite the bullet and buy a cheaper and simpler one. If you installed it yourself, make sure the settings on the inside are correct, like gas/electric heat, and 24 volts, stuff like that.
