I reinstalled windows xp and i go on to the internet explorer and it says the page cannot be displayed What can i do to fix it and i do not have internet

If NO Internet = NO Internet Service
You are perfect and I.E.8 is functioning properly.
Internet Browser ( I.E. 8.0 ) requires an active internet account and access to the internet. " Page Cannot Be Displayed " = no connection to the URL address in the address bar.

If you have active Internet Service =
Sounds like you have no connection to your router / modem
Confirm the following connections : LAN = network cable, or Telephone line, or Wireless network connection and password ?

Once connected to your Internet Service Provider
IF you're system is ( only ) " Auto-Updating " ?
Try this.. manually check for updates. When window opens, check for all types of updates ( default selection is " important ", "Recommended " etc )
Select the other ( optional ) choice. When the next window appears ...
on the left side default (1st choice ), Software (2nd choice ) Drivers / other (3rd choice) 2nd " Software " = contains "optional" network update drivers and software = after downloading and installing updates ... machine re-start will be required for completion ...
REPEAT PROCESS EACH OF THE THREE TYPES OF UPDATES
Windows would continually find additional auto updates after each optional installation ... additional optional updates will become available, as a result of auto updating adding more updates ...
( " Lather, Rinse Repeat " ) Repeat processes, until all updates ( auto, optional, drivers ) show "0" available.
The system will now be updated.
please excuse, if the exact word of the choice is not exact, XP has been replaced 3x over.
If you find this was helpful, please remark positively

No network coverage

Set IP Address Configuration
Click the "Start" button and select the "Control Panel" from the right column to open it.
Select the "Network and Internet" section of the Control Panel.
Click "Network Connections" if using Windows XP to view the available network icons.
Or, click "Network and Sharing Center" if using Windows 7 or Vista and select "Change adapter settings."

Right-click your network connection icon which displays either the yellow triangle or red "x" indicating limited or no connectivity.
Select "Properties."
Click on "TCP/IP" to select and highlight it. Click "Properties."
Select both the "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" radio buttons.
Click "OK" and then "Close" in the Network Connection Properties box. Close the Control Panel.
Manually Renew IP Address
Click the "Start" button and choose "Run" from the list.

Type "cmd" in the "Run" box and press "Enter" to open the Windows Command Prompt.

Type "ipconfig /release" in the Windows Command Prompt and press "Enter."
This releases the current IP address of your computer.
Type "ipconfig /renew" and press "Enter" to obtain a fresh IP address.
When renewing your IP address, Windows automatically attempts to connect to the network.
Powercycle Router and Modem
Turn off your computer.

Unplug both the Internet modem and wireless router's power adapter from the electrical outlet. Wait for two minutes.
Plug the Internet modem into the electrical outlet first. Wait for connectivity lights to appear.
Plug the wireless router's power adapter back into the electrical outlet.
Confirm that lights appear on the router indicating that it has established a connection to the modem.

Turn on your computer.
Open "Network Connections" if your computer does not connect automatically to the network.
Select a network from the list, input the network password if one exists and click "Connect."
Open your Internet browser to test the connection.
Update Network Interface Card (NIC) Drivers

Click the "Start" button. Right-click "My Computer" or "Computer" from the Start Menu. Select "Manage." Click "Yes" if a user account control message appears.

Click on "Device Manager" from the list of System Tools.
Find the "Network adapters" listing and click the "arrow" or "plus" symbol to expand it.

Right-click your computer's network adapter from the list and select "Properties."
Click the "Driver" tab and select "Update Driver."
Follow the on-screen prompts to allow Windows to find and install the drivers automatically. Restart the computer when the process is finished and attempt to re-connect to the network.
Reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Click the "Start" button and select "Run."
Type "cmd" and press "Enter" to open the Command Prompt.

Type the following line into the Command Prompt and press "Enter":
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
Close the Command Prompt. Issuing this command tells Windows to remove and then re-install the two registry keys used by the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) component of Windows.

Restart the computer.
Attempt to connect to the network if a connection is not established automatically.

How do i connect my nintendo wii to my wireless home network

From the wii home menu...
1.jpg

Go to Wii Options in the lower left.
2.jpg

Click on Wii Settings to the right.
3.jpg

From this first list, click the right arrow.
4.jpg

Now on page 2, click on Internet.
5.jpg

Then click Connection Settings.
6.jpg

From this list, click Connection 1.
7.jpg

Then, click Wireless Connection...
8.jpg

and then click Search for an Access Point.
9.jpg

It will briefly search for any access points and when this screen comes up, click OK.
10.jpg

The following will be a list of nearby access points. If the one you are looking for doesn't show up, click Try again. Then, click the one you have access to...
11.jpg

When the following screen appears, click OK...
12.jpg

and OK again.
13.jpg

It will test the connection...
14.jpg

And if successful, the following will drop down. Click Yes to update Wii.
15.jpg

Sometimes the above screen is false, saying there is an update when there isn't and the following will appear...
16.jpg

Now, back in Wii System Settings, click on WiiConnect24.
17.jpg

From the following list click WiiConnect24.
18.jpg

Click On and then Confirm to save your settings. This feature allows for updates to be seemlessly sent to your Wii so you don't have to do the final step every time.

Ok, the final step, just as a way to make sure your Wii is up to date. Click the right arrow from the 2nd page of Wii System Settings.
20.jpg

Click Wii System Update...
21.jpg

click yes...
22.jpg

it will test your connection for a few seconds...
23.jpg

an update screen may quickly come up and tell you there is an update (whether or not your Wii actually needs one)
24.jpg

and the following screen will appear. Click Wii Menu to finish.
