- Outlook (witch one are considering?) is a set of productivity tools included with Office package: Mail, Calendar, Task, Agenda, contacts etc and became more and more sophisticated (and complicated) progressing with version from 2000 till 2007.. Outlook express is a reduced set of office productivity (Mail, contact) always supplied as part of windows and actually supplied as Windows Mail in Vista. Both are Mail Clients (= No webmail based ) but they can be configured to access webmail account. Outlook Express cannot be used to access Mail server based on MS Exchange but both system can access POP, IMAP and HTML server. On Microsoft web site you can find several tools to compare feature between different mail client and also OWA the web based tool to access an Exchange server.
