Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have no sound on my laptop not even with head phones. Any idea why?

You need to download sound drivers on your laptop. You can install them from the following link http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-AC-97-Audio-Driver-XP-W2K-W98-WDM-driver-VER-5-10-0-5554-zip/3000-2110_4-210198.html

The above link would work for OS Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/2003/NT

This should resolve your problem

Just installed xp sp3 os ......i made to run realtek hd driver in this os ....but its not supporting 5.1 channel output ......

Download and install the AC97 HD audio codec from Realtek. If this doesn't solve your problem please post additional info under this thread including - the exact type of motherboard or model of PC so it's easier to narrow down precisely which HD codec you might need (there are a couple of possibilities)...

Hi Sir,

Download the driver from the below website. It must work. Make sure you uninstall the old driver before you try installing this one.

Revert back for any clarifications.

Hi..my sound card is not fuctioning

Hi, Vijay, Just log onto the manufacturers website.

Depends on your make of laptop, Dell, Asus ETC.

On the site you will find downloads and support.

Click on this, locate your laptop madel and then your O/S and download the audio drivers you want.

If you are running XP on an old laptop [as I do for my work]

I have found the processor and ram are working at their limit to run XP and do not run the sound system.

Regards mistyman
