Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

1. you either have to dismantle the notebook or laptop and remove the CMOS battery and reinstall it . This will reset the BIOS.
2. Obtain a recovery disk or rescue disk for your model.
3. Call the manufacturer for instruction on how to recover or reset your password for your laptop.

SOURCE: how to do i enter bios setup in toshiba 5205-s705

Hold down the F1 key, then, while continuing to hold it down, press the power switch. the system will turn on, then prompt you to check system and press F2 (thats from memory, it maybe F1 again) to enter BIOS.
With many Toshibas you can hold down any key to do this, as it simply generates a keyboard error, prompting the same message.
Hope this info helps.

By pressing DEL can you enter the BIOS setup screen? If so, can you see the hard drive designated? It is usually in the initial screen where it lists all recognized peripherals, including your DVD drive and (hopefully) your hard drive.

Try these setup codes.

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

WHAT IS BIOS

BIOS is Basic Input Output System. On startup, before the windows screen comes on, you need to press one of the F# keys to enter the BIOS/setup screen. On my PC I have to press F2 to enter the BIOS/setup screen. The delete key can also take you to this screen on some PC's.

Reset the BIOS on a Compaq server 740 jumpers settings

Don,t do that insatead:
Entering the BIOS Setup menu Entering the BIOS Setup menu requires pressing a specific key at a specific time. If you fail to enter the Setup menu on your first try, repeat the following steps until you are successful:
  1. Close all applications that are currently running and restart the computer by clicking Start , Shut Down , Restart the Computer , and then OK .
  2. When the red Compaq logo or blue HP logo screen appears, press the F10 key on the keyboard to enter the Setup menu.

NOTE: An alternate to the above steps, especially if the logo screen disappears too quickly to enter BIOS, is to shut down (turn off) the computer. Wait 30 seconds, turn the power on and press F10 or F1 at the logo screen. Reloading the default settings Complete the following steps to reload the factory installed BIOS Setup settings:
  1. In the BIOS Setup utility, select the Exit tab.
  2. Select Load Setup Defaults .
  3. Select Save Changes and Exit (pressing F5 and the Enter key will also load the Setup Defaults).
  4. Press Esc and then Enter to exit Setup.

When i start up m,y advent 8117 i get a black screen with blue rectangle asking for password which i dont know enter bios setup it wont do anything till i enter said password getting suicidle

Sounds like someone put a password on your bios, therefore making it so you cant get into your computer...I would recommend pulling your HD bringing it to someone who can get your data off it. Or if you are computer literate get an HD external controller to turn it into an external harddrive then get your data off it. An example of this product would be here. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3276554&Sku=ULT40112
