Question about iRiver Clix Digital Media Player

1 Answer

IRiver Clix, firmware won't update, *everything* deleted.

When I plug my iRiver in and open it in my computer, there is absolutly nothing in it. Not just music, none of the readme files or data or folders or anything. I have made sure I can see hidden files and folders.

When I try update the firmware (Currently v1.11) it downloads, but when it tries installing I get "Cannot install firmware".

In windows media player, it recognises the device, but if I try sync it it just stops or I get an error.

Fixed it on my own by copying firmware off another clix then updating on a different comp.

I tried to format the iriver clix 2GB but now in setting i can see 0MByte .. Where is the memory gone :( I cannot copy anything as it is giving no available memory

if you just formatted (you deleted everything)...........for future references when formatting you must save the device software to a flash / hard drive. This is what makes the device tick.... IF by chance you know anybody with this device other than you, you can copy their software......... (Iriver global only have firmware)...... and the only other suggestion is to use it as a external hard drive..... :(

Iriver clix gets static-y after a few minutes

Hello Cart, I am sorry to hear that your Iriver Clix Gen 2 4 gb video player recieves enormous amounts of static that makes it unaudible after a couple minutes. I see that you have eliminated one of the factors of static by upgrading the firmware, but unfortunately the firmware is only related to booting up, and loading your movies/music. If the static is coming from the speakers, you may not be able to fix it, unless you open up your Iriver Clix, which I recommend you not do, due to that it will void your warranty. The Static may be caused due to excessive geforce or impact to your device, causing the wire's to be loose. If the static is coming from the speakers, I would recommend you to return it to the manufactuer or return it back to the store. If the static is coming from the 3.5 mm plug, try a different pair of headphones or earbuds, make sure it is fully plugged in, I would also recommend you to return back to the manufacturer, or return it back to the store. -Tom Smith.

Iriver clix - dowloading music from laptop to iriver clix

If you set up Windows Media Player to autosync to the Clix, then, when you delete songs from the computer (including the wallpaper jpeg), the files also get deleted off the clix. Make sure you have Manual Sync enabled in Windows Media Player (or, more accurately, disable auto-sync).

If auto-sync is already disabled, then you have a good, old-fashioned DB corruption. You can reload the firmware from iRiver's website:

Iriver mp3 won't stay on

If it's an older model, the battery may have possibly expired. The connection between your MP3 player and the computer may not work right. The best and first thing I would do is return the product; messing with those physical connections usually void the warranty.

Maybe updating with the latest firmware will help. Try iriverinc.com and see what they have for updates, or the CD that came with yours. I hope this helps, the best thing to do is just exchange it.

Iriver clix 2 8gb screen broken

i can fix your no responsive

u need to open your clix (CAREFULLY)

u will see the side with the screen has an attachment on it. on the other end of the clix there is a rectangular thing that looks just like it. now carefully plug the screen back into it and snap your clix back together. plug it into any charger and PRESTO fixed screen

if it didnt work then your screen is cracked and must be sent back to the company. they do it for free though.

Don/t work for any click

You can reload the firmware from iRiver's website:
http://iriverinc.com/support/ultra/clix2.aspx.

To force PC to recognize, hold in one of the buttons on the side of the Clix while connecting the clix to the PC - should force recognition in 10-15 seconds.
