Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: PCI simple Communication Controller

Drivers are here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/prodTopCategory?product=96027&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=
Just click evo d510 cmt, then download drivers and software.

You should now be at a page that lists all of hp's drivers for your system.

I think PCI simple Communication Controller would be your modem, which I saw on that page, and also the driver for your ethernet controller.

Firewire port usff 7010

If you're asking if a Dell OptiPlex 7010 USFF will support Firewire the answer is No...Unless you purchase and install a Firewire card

The OptiPlex 7010 USFF has the following external connections:
  • Front Panel: one microphone connector and one headphone connector
  • Back Panel: one line-out connector and one line-in/microphone connector
  • Network Adapter: one RJ45 connector
  • Serial: one 9-pin connector; 16550 C compatible
  • USB 3.0: Back Panel - 2
  • USB 3.0: Back Panel - 2
  • Video: 15-pin VGA connector
  • 20-pin DisplayPort connectors - 2
I don't recommend any USB to Firewire convertors but if you can find a Firewire Convertor PCI Express Card you can try installing it but remember the USFF has only one Mini PCI Express 52-pin connector, I've highlighted a possible product. It allows for Firewire 800 speeds. The included optional internal Molex power connection is only required if your Firewire device doesn't have its own power adapter

Pci simple communications controller could not find a driver so there's no internet, board is an Asus p5smxse with 2 chipsets, one on the north and the other on the south. sis 968 and sis 671fx

Enter your bios and make sure you're lan is [Enabled].
Open the link provided below;
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=fLSzpcTDJYT0rgS6&content=download
Choose you're operating system from the drop down menu.
There is one LAN driver, Sis Driver V2.0.1039.1070 for Windows 2000/XP/2003/XP 64bit/2003 64bit. Create a folder on your desktop and name it LAN. Download the LAN driver into the LAN folder. Uncompress the zip file, keep the uncompressed file within the LAN folder. Open windows device manager. Find the pci simple communications controller. Right click on it once. From the pop-up menu left click, update driver. Follow windows instructions. Find the Lan folder on you're desktop and open it. Left click once on the newely created Lan folder so it is high lighted. Click OK. Windows will find the correct software and install it for you. When finished restart you're system. Check windows update for hardware and software updates after windows restarts.
More often than not (pci simple communications controller) points to an audio driver missing but LAN controllers are included.

Cheers!

Did a clean install of windows xp SP2 and am unable to connect to the LAN connection between the NIC board and the broadband modem. Error message tells me simple communications controller is missing. What...

Hello.

When you performed the Windows XP install, not all the drivers were available and installed.

To find and install the driver for the simple communications controller:

Go to Device Manager and click on the pci simple communications controller

Go to Properties and then Details. You will see a code like PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...
The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in the example the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabse.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your hardware.

From there, you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

Hope this helps.

Upon reinstallation of OS the device manager is showing that the PCI Simple Communication Controller has an exclamation point...I am stumped and cannot get this to correct...Please help...oh...windows XP...

This means that you do not have a driver for this device. The link below leads to download location on dells website for your machine. Start by installing the chipset driver. If that doesn't fix it, try the modem and network driver sections. without looking at your machine I can't be sure which driver you are missing. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_CEL_GX270&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
