Question about Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Receiver
When uploading from my Garmin Forerunner 3o2, I nearly always have to synchronise a number of times in order to get the message "...successfully received from your device". I usually get "Problem receiving activities and courses".
Here's what solved the problem for me: I previously had the Garmin cradle connected to a 4-port USB hub (splitter). When I re-connected the Garmin directly to the computer, the downloads worked fine.

Unplugged the watch, exited TC, plugged it into a different USB port and bang - it all came over fine. who'd have thunk it?

I received the same error for a first time today. My last workout (3 hours 24 minutes recorded at 1 second intervals) would not transfer to the training center but i could see it in the history in my 305 unit.
Updated the Garmin Training center software, rebooted, recoonected - no luck.
Called Garmin, spend 40 minutes waiting, then a lady walked me trhu updating the software on the GPS unit to the latest version. Still no luck following her directions after the update. However, quitting the Training Center, turn off the 305, then put it back in the cradle (while still off), and it synced just fine as it has always done before. I guess in my case, updating the unit software helped, even though I had only once verison behind the current...
Anyway, this is what did it for me:
(1) Update the Training Center (your PC software) to the latest version.
(2) Update your unit's software to the latest version.
(3) Quit everything you have running, turn off the 305, take it out of the cradle, re-connect, run Training Center if not running automatially, and transfer your date from the File menu...
Before doing all that, remember to back-up your data from the Training Center, just in case. File/Backup...
