I need assistance with the front panel cables (Power, HDD, Reset etc)

On your motherboard power is setup like so:

10 9 8 7 6 (no pin on 6)
1 2 3 4 5

6- No pin

you have 5 connectors from the chassis' front (with cable colors):
-P LED (white)
+P LED (green)
HDD LED (yellow/white)
RESET (white/blue)
POWER (orange/white)

You just insert cables according to these nos. Do this job carefully that's why i am giving you full details about cable and its colors.

Hello, first of all I need know where the serial number for an iwill motherboard is usually located. and my main problem is when i plug the pc in i get a power light but nothing happens when i press the...

Serial nos of mother board is located in near the ram slot.
Check the ON button if your pc not ON.
check where the jack pin of power button is inserted in motherboard pull it out and short that both pin using wire(touch ones), if again computer not ON then check your SMPS power supply, if again PC not ON then it means your motherboard need repairs no matter the light is ON or NOT.
if u get power light then wire formula will work. Good Luck

Intel 845gvsr motherbord nos display.

with no ram you will get beeps that confirms your processor is working (as it cant detect ram) you could be using the wrong speed or type, also as Ghoaliass stated, if your using a couple of modules try one at a time, if it fails on the first, remove the stick and try anther one and so on until you at lease get a bios screen :)

Hop-e this helps,
