SOURCE: Fisher and Paykel DEGX1 Electric Dryer Stays Warm

Yes, get a new element. The reason it's on all the time is because the element coils have broken and one of the coils is touching the canister that encloses it. This creates a direct short to ground. By the way, the element has 120 volts to it all the time. It will only HEAT when 240 is applied through the centrifugal switch of the motor. Your 120 volts is shorting to ground... not enough amps to trip the circuit breaker, but enough to glow the element.

SOURCE: dryer is not heating well

a heating element is not hard to change out, open the back of the dryer and locate the heating elemental unscrew the screws and replace it. Let me rephrase that the heating elements are usually not hard to change out. I pretty sure if you no where the heating element is you will have no problem with. let me know how it goes for you.

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel DEGX2 Dryer. Need heating element changed?

I had the same problem. Everyone continued to tell me that I needed a new heating element, clean lint trap, etc. However, I took the front off of the dryer and located the heating element. On the front of the heating element, in between two wires, there is a red button. Push the button and you might hear a click that sounds similar to a circuit breaker. It is a reset button for the heating element. Try that and it might help.

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

Hi i have an AD39 dryer and timer is faulty , old timers are obsolete they sent a replacement , different layout of terminals anyone know what wire goes where ? thank you Colin

The best thing to do is email them and ask as they will know better than anyone.

In my experience where this has happened to me, you will find the terminals are numbered or have distinguishing letters.

My fisher & paykel model ad39 dryer has stopped working

Always unplug the appliance before working on it.
I would suggest checking the circuit breaker in the breaker box for your apartment, to see if it has tripped. You have probably already done this, but try to reset (open all the way and then close) the circuit breaker. Plug the power cord in again and try to operate the dryer.
If it trips the circuit breaker again, there is a short circuit or a ground, and you should unplug the machine and diagnose the problem. 240 volts AC, when shorted or grounded can start fires or kill people.
Many Dryers are equipped with a "non-resettable thermal fuse". When the air being blown through the dryer gets too hot, this thing melts and opens up the entire power circuit. The dyer doesn't do anything, as if it had no power.
This non-resettable thermal fuse can usually be purchased from the manufacturer or a good appliance supply store, and comes in a kit which also includes a new thermostat, to replace the one that probably failed and overheated the machine to start with.
Get a friend who is an Electrician to help you if you are at all unsure of replacing parts in your power circuit. Be sure to unplug the machine / use a VOM to check it dead before you touch anything electrical. BE SAFE. 240 Volts AC is not just playing around.

Hi, My dryer has stopped dying the my cloths is this a common problem?

No, is the dryer drum spinning? If not, replace the drum belt. If the drum is spinning but not drying the colths. The dryer heating elements is burnt out and needs to be replaced. GB..stewbison

Dryer won't heat at any setting.

Check for tripped twin breakers in the house electrical panel--push off, then on. If no help, then likely burned out heater element or open thermostat that controls the heater. These parts are usually behind the main drum and require removal of the drum to access. Hope this helps!

one of the 2 thermostats have failed, most have a reset button you can push pin into this will test if it is faulty, they are normally located near the heater element, you might also be able to tell with the reset one being slightly scorched45d764d.jpg

Fisher and paykel clothes dryer wont turn with clothes in it.

Hi
Most dryers work with a belt around the drum. Either the belt is stretched and needs replacement or there may be a belt tensioner which needs adjustment to tighten the belt.
What is happening in your case is that the belt is slipping on the drum as it is too loose.
Best wishes,
Graemevm
