Question about Pro RX65 Radar Detector

Problem to turn on my RX65

good morning,

We have used, since September 08 (our purchasing period), around 3 times per month our RX65 for medium travels without problem, but since the middle of November 08, impossible to turn on this radar detector.

firstly, except the green light onto the connector, nothing appended (no starting test) when we connect it to the car. (This have been check on 5 cars so we conclude that it's not an alimentation problem (fuse on these cars are good too)

Nowadays, nothing append (green light is off too)

before to return it to BELTRONICS I would like to check if something can be done in FRANCE to solve this problem
Please help me
best regard

Obviously you have pressed the power button on your RX65 in order to try to power it up since you mention that the green light on the SmartCord comes on. Here is one possible solution, which resolves any stored user settings which might have become corrupted due to power fluctuations:

First, press the power button so that the radar detector is turned off (green light is off). Then hold down the two buttons used for programming and, while holding these programming buttons down, press the power button. Release all three buttons once you see "RESET" displayed on the RX65's display. Your RX65 has now restored all factory default settings from a separate area of programmed memory, and this (hopefully) will restore your RX65 to proper operation.

I have the B60 model. It has been wonderful from day one and then...today...I made 2 cups this morning, went back about 2:00 to make another and it was off. Hummm...so I tried to turn it on and it will...

Try the following steps to reset the processor:

1. Simultaneously press and release ?small mug? and ?medium mug?. Immediately afterward press ?menu? 3 times. You should see a time 6:09 (or similar) on your screen.

2. Press ?menu? once. Your LCD screen should say Brew 0:00.

3. Press and hold ?medium mug?. While holding ?medium mug? press and release ?menu?. Immediately after releasing ?menu? (while still holding ?medium mug?) press ?small mug?. Release ?small mug? and ?medium mug? at the same time. This entire thing needs to be done very quickly.

4. Unplug the machine (do not turn it off). Wait for 3 minutes or so. Plug it back in, turn it on and follow the instructions for priming.

I have the same problem since 1 year. getting worse every months.

its more than likely going to be the camshaft dephaser, this is quite a costly job as it requires replacing along with the cambelt and auxillary belt, its a common fault

Calculate Quarters between any two dates

not sure if this is what you are after entirely but should at least help you out some what

=DATEDIF(A3,C3,"m")/3

As you said you cant just divide by 3 but I have divided the formula by 3 to see how many 3 months will go into the output you could maybe have another formula to divide it by 2 to see if it will divide by 2 to see if you get a whole number or not, if you do then you can just return the first part before the dot ( using split function ) and if the value is less then 1 then obviously the 3 months has not passed between the 2 dates

Hi everyone,

Bel/Escort now uses a special and proprietary "high temp" speaker which resolves issues of speakers blowing due to high ambient temperatures or heat which builds up within the speaker when it is alerting for extended periods of time. If your RX65 is in warranty and you can make a photocopy of your sales receipt, then great! All you have to pay is shipping to Bel. Bell will replace the speaker with the new version, flash your RX65 with whatever the latest firmware is, and calibrate and test your RX65 too. So, all of this is peachy if your RX65 is under warranty.

If your RX65 is out-of-warranty or if it doesn't have a serial number or was bought from a non-authorized dealer, then the service charge as I recall is $80. Thats not bad since your RD will come back working like brand new.

A note about the speakers: They are made by PUI, but the speakers are proprietary to Bel/Escort. Thus you can not buy them from any source -- not even direct from PUI.

Service needed

The internal self-calibration procedure has repeatedly failed, causing your RX65 to display the Service Required message. You need to send it to Bel for repair.

Bel RX65 not working properly

Regarding the problem of the unit turning on for a second, then turning off after you plug it in....

Plug it in and hold the power button down for 5 seconds. This resets the unit. The unit will still turn off after this however. After that, push the power button on again for one second and it should remain on. Good Luck!
