Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

Where can I find and download a Luxpro psp511 thermostat user manual?

I simply want to clear the programming because the furnace will randomly change to 60 degrees, and the house cools down. I think a previous tenant must have programmed something into it, and I just want to cancel any programming that may have been entered. Luxpro's website is utterly useless.

SOURCE: Good morning I have a honeywell

Mebnme, is right, manually setting your therm and holding hold, will override any pre-setting program. Also go to honeywell website, order a manual and program your therm yourself, what model do you have?

I have a comfort furnace that change to celsius somehow HELP

the change of the denomination ( F to C ) will not affect the performance of the furnace
the thermostat still operates regardless of what is on the reading
0 degrees C is still 32 F and is still the freezing point of water
and 100 C is still 212F or the boiling point of water and a thermostat still works between those ranges
read you user manual as to how to change the read out back to F readings

When the change filter indicator comes on, it is referring to the filter in your furnace. The thermostat itself does not have a filter.

If i am away for any length of time, do i put the temp on vacation? does the water still get warm?

Since you didn't provide the brand & model of the thermostat, only generic help can be provided.

Most furnaces that run on oil or gas, make hot water all the time, 24 / 7 - winter, summer and everything between so to speak. They are controlled by an aquastat that may be set for any value between 140 - 180 degrees F. This is called "hot start" - simply because when the thermostat is set to a temperature higher than the room (turning heat ON), the water is already hot in the furnace, and is circulated immediately. If it was a "cold start", you'd have to wait for the water in the furnace to heat up from room temperature. This would substantially increase the amount of time it would take to heat the room.

Generally, the "vacation mode" simply halts the program from running. If your thermostat changes temperatures several times during the day / night, it will simply hold the lowest temperature - or a predetermined temperature built in - or chosen by you. You'll need to consult your manual to determine just how your thermostat handles the vacation mode setting. Post again if you can't find the manual - but tell us what brand and model it is.

I hop ethis helps - good luck!

Many heating thermostats don't allow for setting a temperature below 45 degrees F so freeze ups shouldn't be a problem.
