Ms exel

The desktop provides a short cut (link) to the working file. This link has a set of properties which you can view by right cliking on the icon. The target field should look familular to you with regards to the file you want excel to open. Closely study the detail of the file's location and extention. You can modify anything you see that needs correcting in the target field. I could continue but I would be giving you a list of what if's. If I were a betting man I would bet on the need to correct the extention. If all else fails then create a new short cut and ditch the old one. KE5UYX

If you have both files open at the same time, you can use drag and drop in formulas between the two files. You can also go to the menu item "Link" and activate/update links from there. Thanks for rating FixYa!
