could be an intermittant connection on the picture tube curcuit board,or a bad picture tube, a bad flyback xformer,or a bad b+ capacitor off the flyback that controls the driver transistors on the crt board. Good Luck
Has it been moved latley? try to unplug it over night then try it. Sometimes they need to be reset. Some tvs go threw a test phase and need to do it a few times. If it has taken a fall it could be damaged or somthing may have come unplugged internaly. It may have over heated is it free from dust? electronics attract dust like a magnet. Is there any signs of somthing spilled on it? water damage?
