Question about Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS
I was asked to reset my 4250 after failure to download update. After reset, my computer will not find the gps and the gps will go no furthure than the intro blue screen. no idea what to do next.
Same problem, here. Already spent about 45 minutes with their tech people just to get the map update installed. Then it wouldn't get past the blue screen.
Guess I'll call them back and try to get the repair also.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I called tech support and they said that the update requires XP SP1 or SP2, NOT SP3. I have not tried it yet, but they told me it was a problem with not being compatible with XP service pack 3

If I am correct you can put it on the sd card
There should be a slot for the card on the unit .
also you can check on their web page .

I also had problems with a refurbished Magellan 4250. The paperwork inside said to install the 4.85 firmware update which I found would not work with Windows XP Home at least for me. I used my laptop which has Vista Ult 32 bit it updated with no problem that is so far the only solution I used.
