Question about AcerScan 620P Flatbed Scanner
I have a new Dell C521 computer with Windows Vista. I am trying to connect my AcerScan 620p Flatbed scanner to it. Dell sent me the wrong connection. I looked on line but the cables that i found say for printers only. I was told that I need a Parallel to USB adapter but there are so many. How do I know which one will fit?
I have acer prisa 620p and i don't have an adaptor.what type of adaptor will i provide?thanks

If the Acer has an parallel connection and not USB this indicated to me it is an older machine from the Win98 era. In which case it will not work with Vista. Indeed many newer devices do not work with Vista there is a real issue here Check back with Dell on this.

I searched through BenQ site as they were previousily Acer Communications or something which made this and other scanners and it only has drivers that are supported up to Windows XP.
That link will take you to the US driver download page for your scanner, change the country to whatever country you reside in. It may work with Vista if you run the driver update as a XP program with the compatibility wizard or when you install the scanner. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you may just have to go buy a scanner that will run with Vista or an all in one printer that is supported in Vista.
