in my past experience when you change drivers or bios, you should be able to unistall the new and restore the old. if you go to Gateway web site enter your model info or tag into search, it will provide the bios, drivers and software updates to your model. if you pick BIOS when your model info is displayed and download it, it should be the old one or original if no updates are listed. the links sent you may have answered this already. i have gateway pc so thats what i do.

Gateway 5300S Desktop PC - need original BIOS

Hello you can try one of the bios file from here as it is a INTEL mainboard:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+915+Express+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D915GAG

Try one of the preversions. Your current bios file could be damaged.
Download the exe file so you can update the bios while the system is running.Don`t use unautorized programs to upgrade the bios it could go very wrong.

I could not find the original bios file.
Have you entered a wrong model ?

Here is the gateway support site:

http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=supportnav

If you find the model here please unzip the file before you go any further.
And be 100% sure its the right model.

Hope this will help you

How can i make bios k8n-vm.rom to motherboard because i cant read from flopy this file , thank you

anaging and updating your BIOS
The following utilities allow you to manage and update the motherboard
Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) setup.
1.
ASUS EZ Flash
(Updates the BIOS using a floppy disk during POST.)
2.
ASUS AFUDOS
(Updates the BIOS in DOS mode using a bootable floppy
disk.)
3.
ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2
(Updates the BIOS using a bootable floppy
disk or the motherboard support CD when the BIOS file fails or gets
corrupted.)
4.
ASUS Update
(Updates the BIOS in Windows
®
environment.)
Refer to the corresponding sections for details on these utilities.

prepare the motherboard support CD or the floppy disk containing the updated motherboard BIOS before using this utility.
• Make sure that you rename the original or updated BIOS file in the
floppy disk to K8NVM.ROM.

Recovering the BIOS from the support CD
To recover the BIOS from the support CD:
1. Remove any floppy disk from the floppy disk drive, then turn on the
system.
2. Insert the support CD to the optical drive.
3. The utility displays the following message and automatically checks
the floppy disk for the original or updated BIOS file.
4. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process.
DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS! Doing
so can cause system boot failure!

USB 2.0 on Intel D845PT Motherboard

HI,

Yes, that board is only a 1.1 USB port. USB 2.0 can easily be added to a computer using a USB 2.0 PCI card. These cards are relatively cheap and they can be found in almost any computer store. You can even find USB 2.0 PCI cards at Walmart. The cards will typically have 3 - 5 ports on them. These ports are setup so that you will have to plug your USB devices into the back of the computer.

Good Luck

Bios update for gateway m7315u

Gateway does not currently have an update Bios available for your system. What that means is that they have not received/tested/released an update.

This system uses a Phoenix Technologies Bios. It is possible that they have released a Bios revision that Gateway has not released. If you go to Phoenix.com and click on Bios updates near the bottom, it links to BiosAgentPlus, a free application that will scan your system and provide you with information on obtain an updated Bios if it's available.

You want to be very cautious using this though. Your Gateway system is a n OEM product, meaning that when Gateway put this system together they have permission to make changes to the system as needed including the motherboard. It is possible that an update that this or any software that is not provided by gateway finds may not work and could cause problems. An incompatible Bios update could render your computer inoperable.

It appears this BiosAgentPlus application will also scan for updated drivers. More times than not using non-gateway provided drivers do not work. This is esspeically true with laptops. Don't download everything it suggests unless you are having a specific problem with that item. If it's not broken - don't try to fix it, especially with a non-OEM driver.

Are you certain that you need an update at this time? If you do not have a specific need that the update was written to solve, then it's best to leave it alone.

Gateway E3600 (Intel D845PT MB) won't boot after MS Update

This error comes when your motherbord not read properly harddrive.
for that first reconnect both connection to harddisk.Power cable and ide or sata cable.
Change SATA or IDE cable then check.
Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings are factory defaults.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key then you can see bios screen.
Make sure hardddrive detect in bios.
Set first boot device as harddrive.
Then check.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks.

Bios hangs

Reseat all cards in system, including the RAM. If it still does not boot try removing one stick of ram at a time to see if it boots. As well as removing extra cards.
