Let it Dry out for 3 or 4 Days in a Warm area and see what you get. This is a Trial and Error Thing.

You live for your iPod.
It's what you listen to in the car, as you walk into work or during your classes, and you plug it into speakers for music in your home.
But you just dropped it into a puddle or into a pool or down the toilet.
Now, you're wondering if you can save your iPod

Get the iPod out of the water and dry it off so there's no standing water on it.
Turn it off. Turning it on while there's water inside it will fry the insides.

Place it in a warm, dry place.
Give it a few days off before turning it back on.
Turn it over occasionally to prevent water from pooling.
Some experts recommend blow-drying it for a few minutes every couple of hours with the blow-dryer set on low.
Try putting the iPod in a bag of rice for a few days.
The rice absorbs the water inside the iPod.
See if your warranty covers your iPod. Usually warranties don't cover water immersion, but if your iPod still doesn't work, it doesn't do any harm to check before you buy a new one.

Many people find that at one time or another, an electronic device becomes wet.
Whether it's because of a spilled glass, a rain puddle or pool water, water does serious damage to devices such as touch screen phones and tablets.
Water damage also voids many product warranties.
Use these techniques to minimize or eliminate the damage done by water.
If you learn such tips and act swiftly, you may be able to save your touch screen from serious damage.
Turn off the device immediately.
This vital step prevents the electronics from shorting because of the water, as it cuts off the electricity to the important parts of the component's interior.
The longer the device is left on after exposure to water, the greater the chance of water ruining the circuit systems inside the device, which cannot be recovered.

Remove the battery and any other removable parts.
The object here is to create as many venues for the water to leave the device.
Sometimes this may mean just the battery, which is often sufficient.
If the touch screen device has a flip feature, open it as much as possible.

Dry the outside of the device completely.
Use a paper towel or cloth to pat down the device with care, so as not to increase the amount of water entering the innards of the touch screen.
This prevents water from entering through seams or crevices in the device susceptible to water seepage.

Place the device in a bowl of rice or silica gel packets.
Cover it completely in the rice or silica, both of which are highly effective at absorbing excess moisture.
Leave the device completely submerged in the bowl for at least 72 hours for maximum absorption.

Remove the device and replace the battery.
Once you have left the device for as long as possible in the bowl, it's important to test out the device again.
Attempt to turn on the device.
If it does not power up, it is likely broken beyond simple repair.

Drop my i-pod in water now it won't work..

Generally when an iPod gets wet it is ruined, however sometimes you can save the unit by getting a deep bowl and some dry rice. Place a nice layer or rice in the bottom of the bowl then place the iPod into that bowl cover with rice and let sit for at least twenty four hours, I recommend fourty eight though.
Hopefully this resolution will work for you. Best of luck.
I've used it once on an iPod video and once on a cell phone both worked after words. :-)

Wet Ipod

First you'll need to get a bowl of DRY rice and completely cover the ipod. Leave the ipod in the bowl over night. Sadly it should have been done before the water mark appeared under the screen though.
After it is left to dry out over night in the rice you will want to try to reset the unit. Below i have posted a step by step just in case you have never had to reset your ipod before.

Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Or just hook it up to the xbox again and try the reset with power behind it.
If that fails, the hard drive was damaged and you will either need to get the ipod replaced or repaired. I do hope that this resolves your issue though

Ipod got wet while riding in the rain, now it doesn't work

Well if you know it got wet the first thing would be to let it dry out completely before even trying to power it on. If you did attempt to power it on while it was wet you may have shorted it out.

It's a matter of preference as to what you want to do from here, if you don't have a warranty on it anymore you may have to buy a new one.

There is little even a repair shop could do, as they would have to replace the components and would cost around the same as a new one.

Ipod got wet wont hold a charge and wont switch to play list i accidentally left my ipod shuffle in my pocket and then it got wet in the washing machine it was in there for about 30 seconds please help

Hi,
You probably already have the answer to this, but if you send it to Apple, they may just give you a new iPod. If they even think that it got wet, though, they won't fix it. You will have to replace the battery. There are a number of places that will do that for you. I hopw that helps.

IPod 5th gen water damage

Once it's been wet inside you are pretty much out of luck. iPods are mini computers. If any of the circuitry inside got wet then the connections will start to corrode and it will be junk. You should not try to open it unless you know what you are doing because you can damage the connectors.
Your best bet is to sell it on E-Bay as broken/for parts or repair and state that it has been wet. Someone will buy it for the parts and you can use whatever money you get to buy a new one.
Sorry to have to tell you the bad news.......
