There is a sensor that sees the water height. That one must be damaged or blogged.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but Whirlpool 'F09' does state 'overflow'. It could be that the overflow sensor is being a bit keen i.e. malfunctioning, and needs a service call ;-0(
Sorry again,

What does a flashing code of "FE" mean? I cannot get the machine to stop beeping nor can i unlock the door?

Thanks for using FixYa. FE is Overflow error which means that the water is overflowing and the water level frequency is over 213. When FE error is displayed the drain pump operates to drain the water automatically. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the water inlet valve and pressure sensor which can sense the water level in the tub, if any of this goes bad overflow occurs. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Wasching maschine

with a little care and thin arms, remove from power supply and take off the lid, move the drum unit back from the door pushing gently with one hand while putting other hand down the gap and try to work the catch, it should be possible to just release the catch

make sure the drum is empty of water first, is that why the door didn't open? and you tried to hard, or did it just break, if so it should open
