Question about HP Photosmart C6280 Printer

HP Photosmart C6280 - Where is the printhead???

Please help. My Photosmart all-in-one C6280 printer doesn't print black anymore. The ink cartridge is full. I have tried all the solutions to this problem without any success. Running self cleaning, self alignment, replacing previous full black ink cartridge, resetting, unplugging, cleaning the contacts on the cartridges and the printer etc. All of this many many times. I have read that cleaning the printhead manually would help. How do I access the printhead? I really don't want to spend lots of money on taking it to the service. Any advice?

SOURCE: Will not print black , HP PSC 1610 All-in-One

Here was the solution. You MUST use HP brand black cartridge. Originally I purchased a #94 Office Max brand black cartridge. After it did not work I took it back and they gave me a second Office Max brand and that did not work either. So I took it back and they sold me an HP brand (I only needed to pay the difference in price so Office Max was good to work with). I installed the HP #94 black cartridge and everything now works.

I want to disable messages about the inkcartridges.

Sadly not. The HP Photosmart C7280 insists on having a full set of cartridges installed in order to print. It does this because the printheads are actually part of the printer itself and can sustain damage if they pull air into the printhead.

The out of date message is also non-negotiable I am sad to say.

HP photosmart C6280 when i printed photo on plain paper the color came out is original color., but if i using same setup and printed on photopaper , the color came out not true...pls help this...

The process is different for photos than for plain paper.
It is likely that one of your colors are not printing, probably one of your `light' colors. You can perform a `nozzle check' by using the menu on your printer. This shows you the colors that are printing, and whether they are printing correctly.
If you are using refilled ink, that could easily be the issue.
Try performing the printhead cleaning, again in the menu on your printer. If that does not work, try replacing the ink tank for the faulty color.
If none of this works, it is likely that the ink delivery system is cracked, a common problem in these models.
In this case, replace the printer.

this is hope, i had this problem once. what it was was a small piece of paper that was caught in the rollers. i know you said this, but check again, I am almost positive this is your problem
lastly, check the black cartridge, take it out make sure nothing is stuck to the ink dispensary for clear printing
hope this helps and good luck

Printer not printing black

The head may need to be removed and cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab or you can purchase a head cleaning kit with instructions. The toner sometimes needs replacement

Our HP Photosmart C6280 All in One printer is giving me the Ink System Failure message, I have unplugged everything & taken out the ink cartridges & put them back in, same message...HELP!

Hello,

Check out our web site at: www.ccl-la.com Click on the printer repair link, we have a section under HP that gives a step by step guide to fix your printer. The problem is caused by air in the ink feed tubes and the guide shows you how to purge the lines. You should be back printing in less than 10 minutes.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

HP C6280 says out of black ink

Something is wrong with your Blach carrier or connections. Use a bit of alcohol and clean the array of gold contacts where the Ink cartridge plugs in. Most of the pins are shutter and piezo control (get the ink on paper) but a few do other stuff like check ink level, # of hours runtime, etc. This is very common problem with inkjet printers. Hope this helps.
Also... rub the contacts on the printhead with a pencil eraser to make them shiny and bright.

Cheers!
