Question about RCA D56W20 56" Rear Projection Television
I may of seen a different version of this question a few days ago, The set has a 3 strikes and you are out (not a joke) as it will try 3 times when powered up to come on and then go into shutdown.
Most common issue is bad solder connections under the High voltage transformer (see photo of typical one).
Not knowing your skill level let me know how you want to proceed.

SEEMS THAT YOUR POWER SUPPLY IS ON SHORT AND IT'S SELF PROTECTING YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE A PROFESSIONAL TECH TO DO THE JOB I JUST FIXED ONE WITH THOSE SYMPTOMS AND I REPLACED THE COIL PLUS A COUPLE OF RESISTORS AND IT'S ALIVE AGAIN
THE DOWN SIDE IS THAT THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, IT'S NOT AN EASY TASK

Just fixed it!!! Remove the back panel from the television, you will see a board where the input jacks are located. To the left you will notice a red power wire. Just up and to the right approx 7" or so you will see a [_] shaped metal shield surrounding a capacitor in the middle of it. The part # on the board is CP150. It is a green/gold 16v 2200uF capacitor. More than likely this capacitor is faulty. Run your finger over the top of the capacitor, if it is beveled rather than smooth you have a definite solution to your problem. You may need to remove the plastic piece that covers the transformer to the left of the capacitor to gain easy access. Good luck!!

try unplugging the tv for a few hours. then plug it in and push the power button on the front of the tv.
it has something to do with this processor issue inside the tv....its pretty much a stupid thing.
should have been a recall because everyone has the same problem on here.
this is pretty much just a band-aid over cancer, but i've been having to do this for about a month now, and it works.
