no it fills with watter and when it is suppposed to agitate it just hums. I checked to see if the moter was jamed by fiddling with the motor to transmission union but all rotated freely by hand. it fails to spin up to wring out the water. that cycle justhums as well. it sounds as if the motor is jamed but it isnt i checked twice.

It sounds like the start relay on the motor is bad or weak windings in the motor. I would replace the motor. There is no other cause for this condition. Here is the motor to order. That part also comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return so there are no worries if you should need to return it. Keep me posted.

dear Richard I cannot thank you enough for your help. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to remove the motor and confirm your assessment. I have never used fixya service, how do I give you points to boost your ratings. I will give all that im allowed to give. Also the fixya service appears to be free at my end. So forgive my curiosity but do you get paid for what you do. I hope so. Once the motor is out I will be able to test. All this may take a few days as I dont move very fast but I will let you know the results of all the work in a follow-up email. Once again thank you. Gary.

Hi Gary, no I don't get paid on FixYa and I only get a few points for answering questions. FixYa use to be a paid service but went free about a year ago. If you want to buy me a cup of coffee that would be great! Here is the link to it. Anyhow, keep me posted and if you should need me I will be around.

Stopped during cycle. will not spin or agitate and makes a humming noise

The humming noise may indicate a worn capacitor on the motor.

My admiral washer sometime will not complete the spin cycle. If it sits for a while it will eventualy start working. When it is not working the drum will not even move.

1. The timer is failing. 2. The drive motor is disconnected from the drum but will make a hum noise. 3. The motor is failing.

Filled up with water on rinse cycle but wont work

Possible fault in the control panel , could be that the sequential switching to the next cycle is not outputted due to a failed device - a relay.
Remove the panel and check for dry soldering or parts that are burnt in your observation. Also check the voltage in the spin cycle and if this is absent the panel is a suspect as the processor does not advance from the memory set.

I bought an Admiral washer Model No. ATW4475VQ. I bought it from Home Depot. The first washer was delivered, and when I did a load of laundry, water leaked from the bottom of the washer. I did not see any...

It's impossible to tell. from your description.

Usually a new washer is set up with new hoses. If the installers aren't complete idiots that should be good.

You can look at where the water lines come out of your wall and make sure it isn't wet there.

You could also test the water pressure at your house and make sure it isn't extremely high. Sometimes these new units can't take overly high water pressure.

Good Luck!

The agitator will not run the motor only hums. The spin cycle works and pumps out the water.

Sounds like your agitator is jammed with perhaps a sock or something, You may be able to lift the agitator up to clear it.

My Admiral AAV7000A will fill with water but wont spin or drain, whenever i pull the knob out it just hums.

Could be the timer or the motor. I'd check the timer first. Hope this helps! Ella

My Admiral lg capicity washer won't agitate or spin

Sounds like the belt is broken. Yes you can fix yourself. Lift top, remove front cover, belt is at bottom, not to hard to replace. If belt is not broke let me know, I will go further.
