It sounds like your Dazzle is not compatible with the sandisk. Maybe the Sandisk CF UltraII card have a new update software in it.

SOURCE: Forgot to format SD card...and now...

you don't need to format, just look for an option in your camera to switch between PTP mode and mass storage mode. Try either mode to see which one let you download the pics

You would have to get an SDHC to CF adapter which could be pricey and they are hard to come by.

If you can get the pics using a card reader, why are you insisting on using the camera and USB cord? Pros always use a card reader.

SOURCE: Nikon Coolpix L11 Memory Card Error

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Nokia 6300 memory card not formatted

This phone can only handle up to 2GB in size and just regular microsd cards (not micro sd HC 4GB or up). If you do have this incompatible card type the card not formatted error will occur.

Hope this answered your question!

Tip

Computer Cannot read my SD Card

STOP SD MEMORY CARDS ARE NOT ALL THE SAME !This is a very common issue as of late because of the fairly recent addition to the market place with the "HC" and "XD" Cards. I have found most computer older than 2008 wont read HC and XD cards however I'm sure there are USB card readers that can fill this gap available at your local pc shop. Please look Carefully at these different formats Standard SD: 1 MB to 4 GB readable by almost all computers most often up to 2GB rarely up to 4GB 6468175.jpg

SDHC: 4 GB to 32 GB Most older Computers Cannot read the the HC format, good however for NEWER devices such as camera's, video cameras and recent phones (my cannon powershot S80 will NOT read HC format, nor will my 2007 laptop.)
266e5be.jpg

SDXC: 32 GB to 2 TiB same limitations as above, Great cards for Digital Video Camera though!
8fc5646.jpg
here is a wikipedia note "Changes to the interface of the established format have made some older devices designed for standard SD cards (≤4 GB) unable to handle newer formats such as SDHC (≥4 GB). All SD cards have the same physical shape, which causes confusion for many consumers"
So.. in closing MAKE SURE your device supports HC and or XC before your purchase one! Also be aware that most of these cards have a lock switch on them to write protect the data, located on the side of the card. It MUST be in the Unlocked position to operate normally. Hope this helps someone out there. please use the thumbs up if it clears up anything for you! Gurvy

I have been using my PNY OPTIMA HC 4gb memory card to upload pics for months and all of a sudden it will not read or allow me to upload

Solution overview: You need to "clean" theSD card by using the clean command in Diskpart and then format the card in DiskManagement. This solution will show you how to accomplish this.

1. Plug the SD Card into the computer.

2. Press Win+R to open the Run command.
3. Type "cmd" into the dialog box and press enter to open acommand prompt.

4. Type "Diskpart" into the command line of the command promptto start Diskpart. Wait for Diskpart to load.
5. Type "List Disk" and press enter.
6. Take note of the number of the disk that's associated with your SD card.
7. Type "Select Disk X" where X = the number of the diskthat's associated with your SD card and press enter. Make sure the commandprompt reports that Disk X is selected.
8. Type "Clean" or "Clean all" and pressenter. Clean will be faster but might not solve your problem. If using theclean command doesn't solve your problem, then repeat steps 1-8 and type "Cleanall".
9. Wait for Diskpart to complete the cleaning operation - this may take sometime so wait until it's completed!
10. Close command prompt.

11. Press Win+R to open the Run command.
12. Type "DISKMGMT.MSC" into the dialog box and press enter.Wait for Disk Manager to load.

13. In Disk Manager, scroll down and select the SD Card.
14. Right click and select "New Simple Volume".
15. Select Next, Assign Drive Letter, and select "Next" again.
16. Select "FAT32" for File System and "Default"for Allocation Unit Size. Fill in whatever you want for the Volume Label. Makesure "Perform quick format" is checked and click OK.
17. Wait for formatting to complete and remove SD card from computer.

18. Plug SD card into camera to see if the problem is solved.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa. Post back if you have any questions orproblems.

Have a SDHC 8gb Kodak card that won't format in Z1285

It's suggested that you use any SD Memory Card formatting Software to format the SD memory card. You can download any such Software from the address given below:
https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/support/jp/sd/sdfv2003.exe

Download the software from the above link and install in your computer and then format the memory card using it. After formatting the memory card, insert it in your Camera and use it normally.

I'd like a new SD chip, since mine is full and all the chips I find in stores such as Target and Walmart are SD-HC which doesn't fit in my camera. Is it true that I need a 'plain' SD chip and not one that...

Let me see if I understand what you're saying...your memory card is full so you want to buy another one? Why are you leaving your pics on the card? They will become corrupted over time and you could lose them. Why not download them to your computer and then, format the card in the camera to completely erase it for a fresh start. As to whether you can use an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card, you'll have to check your camera's owner's manual.

Camera Memory Card Capacity

Hi there, and welcome to FixYa.

First, make sure your cards are either, SD or MMC. Any other type won't work.
If they are SD and/or MMC cards, then the reason the cards aren't working is because they have to be formatted in the camera BEFORE you use them. Use the camera to format the cards, don't use your pc or a card reader.
The manufacturer says to use a 2gb card, but that doesn't mean you can't try a higher one. The only thing is that maybe it won't format the card right. Or, it may slow down the processing speed. It won't hurt the camera any.
Have fun with your camera. If you have any further questions, leave me a comment, and don't forget to rate my solution.

Problem with reading Sandisk 4gig hc micro sd card in my computer and laptop

Does the micro sd card been detected by your computer? If not, you may try other card reader, or other computer. If still does not detected, you may try to go to device manager and see whether the sd card is there, if yes, then you can assign a drive letter to the sd card.

Once SD card shows as a drive letter on PC, you can download sd card recovery software to get back your files. recommended asoftech photo recovery that helped me before. download it from link below
SD Card Recovery Software

You can refer to this card recovery tutorial
Recover files from SD Card

If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use Asoftech Data Recovery to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

There sure is, and it's relatively easy. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:
