Unlike most calculators, this calculator does not have a key for decimal exponents. You can use the y^x key located above the 9 key to raise 10 to an exponent and use that value.

Your question is slightly ambiguous.

If you refer to the exponential function (power to base e = 2,7182818...), the key sequence is [SHIFT] [ln]. (rightmost button column, two rows below the ON key).

If you refer to a key allowing to enter powers of 10, like in 3,14 x 10²³, see the button labeled

its located in the bottom button row, center column.

You're getting the correct results. The "EXP" means "times ten to the". When you press 10 EXP 2, you're asking for 10 times ten to the second, which is 10 times 100 or 1000. If you just want ten to the second, press 1 EXP 2.

First of all you need a scientific calculator, one with sin cos, tan, log etc. If you do have one, look for a key marked **EE **(Texas Instruments) or **x10^x** (Casio) or **EXP (Casio, Sharp, Canon).**

To enter 5.10*10^(-7) ,

type in 5.10[EXP] (-)7 then ?nter, Exe, or =.

The EXP key is what's marked EE on most calculators and adds a decimal exponent. 2 EXP 3 means 2*10^3 which is 2000 as you've discovered.

You need to use the x^y key (just above DEL) instead.

Hello,

Times are achanging. The powers of 10 used to be represented by EXP or even EE. But cheer up, it seems that Casio came to its senses and now they represent it as x10X (multiply by 10 to the Xth power) It is the middle key on the lowest row.

After you press the key, enter the exponent.
