Question about Computers & Internet

Laptop - Chooses when to turn on.

Okay - At first My laptop wouldn't come on at all for over 24 hours - And now it will come on but after I shut it down it will stay off for a few hours at least. If I try to turn it back on after shut down, The little indicator lights will come on then shut back off. I'll then have to wait till either the next day or for a few hours at the least for it to turn on normally. If any one knows why this may be, That would be a really great thing.

Seems to be a problem of not enough power.

First check the voltage output of the charger(adapter) and match it with its specs.

Also try to reset the hardware using the following steps:

1 Disconnect battery and the charger
2 Let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
3 Press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
4 Reconnect battery and charger and try to start by pressing the power button.

SOURCE: my laptop heats up and shuts down after a while .

Either the cpu blower is not working or the the air ventilation openings are closed. Use a brush to clean up all the openings for air flow all over the laptop. If possible use clean air under pressure towards the air openingsin co-operation with the brush cleaning. In case of using air under pressure, leave the laptop at least one hour after the cleaning to relax.
Start the laptop and check the results. In case of the problem still exists, the problem is at the cpu blower. In order to get at this blower you must open the laptop's case. Since this is not so easy I suggest to get the laptop at a technician asking for cleaning and checking the cpu ventilation.
In case you are capable of opening the case or if you come up with a problem, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Notebook only work on AC power. Took the battery out one day and replaced it shortly after but it wouldn't turn on. Once it was at 29% then it gradually declined as days go by. Am I doing something...

Most of the Laptop batteries damage due to the overcharging which means while battery is full work with power adapter so the battery never had a chance to drain and the cells get damaged and two hours battery afterwards works for half an hour the day by day it ends to dead - properly dispose your old battery get a compatiable or original battery for your laptop charge it for 14 hours and make sure that while your battery is full disconnect the power adapter when it goes down only and ask you to plug in that time you connect the power adapter .............

Dv9000 is a bad model i think so... my one is dv9778eo notebook. it got hot after a few hours. after some days, display wont come. i get this repaired from an expert. after taking this home and turnig on...

Even though HP laptop are very good and sylish they are prone to getting hot and after time the motherboards do fail.
I wouldn't buy a refurbished motherboard as you can run into the same problem again. If you want another motherboard for the laptop then I suggest that you buy a new one, however they can be quite expensive but that would depend on how much you like the laptop itself.

You could sell the laptop for parts which would go towards another make of laptop.

When it on maybe 1hour or less than that its automatically turn off and it very hot then i leave ten minute and turn on again it okay, and that is the problem with my laptop accer(aspire 5315 series)

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

Hello, I was working with my sony vgn-ns110e for 5 hours and all of the sudden the laptop shutdown. It does not turn on anymore and there's no light either in the power, batt or hd.

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
4. The power button could be bad
5. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced

Turn on problem

Some times, the charging cable from the laptop will not charge a fully depleted battery. If you have not already done so, try charging it using the wall charger that came with the phone.

Hope this works!
