Question about Acer TravelMate 290 Notebook

Possible Fan Problem

When I start my Acer Travelmate 290, the fan activates for a sec then stops. All systems seem to be working ok until the unit (around the RAM area) starts to get pretty warm. Then for no apprent reason the machine will shut down.
I dont hear the fan going at all,
I hear is the fan start for a couple of sec on startup, then no fan at all. My question is should the fan be going all the time ?
and is there something in the setup not checked to say to the fan to go all the time.?
Hope you can help here

You may have a power supply problem.
Might not be pwering enough to run the fan.
I would have my power supply tested.
Some places will do it on the spot for free

I can't get on the internet with a Acer Travelmate 290 I tried almost everything. Wireless internet and cabled nothing seems to work.

If your model has the internet Icon on the right side task bar click on it and go to network and sharing. Try set up a new connection or network. You could also try resetting your modem by unplugging it for about 30 sec. that way it will reset your isp. hope i was some help

I own an acer travelmate 290, and getting no display on monitor.

First check to see if your PC has a built in factory restore, or system recovery, usually available using CTRL & F12, F10, etc. Check your manual, if you don't then, OK try this, Startup PC, press F8 at instant of turn on... choose Safe Mode. when you are asked if you want safe desktop or system restore choose restore, when you get to the restore menu, choose a date BEFORE you had problems there may only be one or two to choose from. just follow the instructions and you should be back to working with all that behind you. If that doesn't work, boot up on your Windows DVD and do a "Repair Install", If thats doesn't work do a format and a reinstall.

The CPU Fan stop after the pc boots

The fan will only run when needed to cool the computer. Fans normally run at full speed during bootup, but turn to low speed or off after bootup if not needed. Is your computer running hot enough that the fan SHOULD be running?

I have a acer travelmate 290 and when i push the power button he start and right after this the processor stop (wont boot) and the light of the cd at the top of keyboard stay open please help me...

It could be many reasons. But worst one could be CPU fan failure. If your CPU fan is not working properly then your computer wont boot but most imp thing is, it could damage your processor coz of overheating.
Another reason may be faulty ram, motheboard problem, hardware failure etc.
so cant say for sure but make sure ur fan is cooling ur processor.
Hope it helps
