How long have you had the device?

Over time the battery will deteriorate and lose capacity, some companies batteries are known to be worse than others.

If you've had the phone for more than 8 months I recommend you purchase a new battery, if you've had it less however I would get the phone checked for any faults.

You'll need to purchase an unlock code.
You will probably find a number of companies via google a I have used a couple, which I'm not sure I'm allowed to post here so I recommend you visit Unlock-Zone.com, which is nearly perfect and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.
Click the unlock your phone and select the mobile phone, current service provider to get the available unlocking service which ranges from $5 to about $25, depending on the model of phone you have.

One of two things has happened, you are not using the charger that was supplied with the phone when new or the charger you are using, though it is the proper charger, has become faulty.

The best thing to do is replace your charger, of course with the proper size for your LG Dare. See your service provider or purchase from LG directly.

You can purchase any GSM mobile and use your old sim in it. It doesnt matter how old or new your phone is just purchase a GSM phone.

The Vodafone SIM card will only work on the Vodafone mobile network. If you want to use different mobile provider then you need to purchase a new SIM card from that mobile provider.
If you intend to use your old mobile phone that was connected to Vodafone, then if this mobile phone is locked to Vodafone, then the new SIM card from a different mobile provider will not work in the old mobile phone unless it has been unlocked to allow you to use any SIM card/mobile provider.

It sounds to me you need to purchase a new lcd screen. I had the same problem. I bought a new one off ebay for $20.00. That's the cheapest place to purchase one. If you tried to go through LG it would cost as much as a new phone does. The problem is the backlight is bad. Purchasing a new screen will fix this problem.

From page 125 in your manual:
Recharge the battery after long periods of non-use to maximize
battery life. Battery life will vary due to usage pattern and environmental conditions.

From page 146 in your manual:
The limited warranty for the product extends for TWELVE (12) MONTHS beginning on the date of purchase of the product with valid proof of
purchase, or absent valid proof of purchase, FIFTEEN (15) MONTHS from date of manufacture as determined by the unit's manufacture date
code.

you might have damaged files on your sd and that is probably causeing the malfunction in which your phone shuts off so if you download from a new site you should be good or get a new sd it might be faulty
