There are gaskets on the side where the controls are and it seems there's a small gas leak in that area. I know this because I had to get them replaced a few years ago (it might only be 1 gasket for the entire piece in question). I was told this was common as they dry up/crack and eventually start leaking. I'd like to replace these gaskets myself as its a pretty straight repair. Can anybody tell me where I can buy or perhaps a product I could use to replace these gaskets? thanks

usually the valve cover gaskets are not the cause, the headgsket most of the time are either leaking coolant, oil or both! A Subaru dealer may possibly will be able to identify it properly considering this is a very common problem, usually the drivers side headgasket is the first the first to leak,if this is the case a call to subaru wouldn't hurt they may assist you in the repair, good luck!
SOURCE: 2002 Chrysler Sebring LTD Convertible, Mileage 58,300. Oil leak
This car came with a 70,000 mile drive train warranty. Take it back to the dealer, or contact Chrysler and your local ABC, CBS, or NBC affiliate, and let them know that the dealer is trying to screw you on their service and on Chrysler's coverage.
Ge it on the national news and I will bet your dealer will have this car fixed within a couple of days.
Embarrass the stuffing out of them!

I'd really like to know why this was put in the "Cars & Trucks" category? I never picked a category.. and now I can't even change it! Where are the options to edit your OWN questions?
