I have a viper 5900 car alarm with the 7701 vpx remote and the lock and unlock are reversed. How do I fix this

according to Viper tech support (I emailed them your question):

Thank you for contacting Directed support!

You may need to reprogram the remote to your phone. Please use the following instructions to reprogram the remote:

To program the remote to your system please do the following:

1) open the driver door
2) turn the key to the "on" or "run" position
3) locate the valet switch (small black button under driver side of dash) and press once, release, then press again and hold
4) after the siren chirps one time press the lock button on the remote
5) the alarm will give you a unique confirmation tone
6) turn the key off (the same unique tone will be heard again)

I have misplaced my remote control key after returning from work. How can I find it please?

If you know its at home or near there. Lock/arm the security system from the 1way remote and then set the alarm off either by opening door with the KEY or hitting the car to set off the shock sensor. The 2way remote will start making lots of noise AS THE ALARM IS GOING OFF.
Now if you lost the 1way remote, there is really no easy solution except your eyes.
cheers!!

I have a viper remote start that came with the used i car i bought, the remote start worked great for the first few months of winter, now when i start it up, it runs for 2 seconds then dies, takes up to 6...

Your alarm may have lost the tach signal, that was learned to it, when it was originally installed. That would cause the remote start to try starting the vehicle over and over again, until it finally stays running, because it can't read the engine speed to know it's running.
If you can find the valet push button switch in your vehicle, try this; Start your car with the key and immediately after it starts, press and hold that valet push button switch until the alarm led on the dash stays lit up or the park lights flash. Then, release the valet switch, shut the car off and try remote starting it. That is the procedure to re-learn the tach signal. Hope it works for you.

Car starter not working

look under the dash for a small silver toggle switch....this is a disable switch for the remote start portion of the system..you may have kicked it / bumped it with your foot, causing the remote start portion to be deactivated. Just flip the switch the opposite way and try again..
Also, there may have been a pin style switch installed under the hood...Check to see if it is bent or broken, if it is, simply disconnect it and insulate the wire that was going to it.
This wire is used as a safety to keep the vehicle from remote starting while the hood is up..to keep people from being injured if the remote start is activated while the engine is being worked on.
Have whatever shop installed the system replace your pinswitch if that is the problem.

Toad sterling car alarm lost manual and need stop code.

This worked on my car when the clicker died:

Put the car in valet mode. Disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal. Put the keys in the ignition and turn it as far forward as you can (as though trying to start it) and let it spring back. Reconnect the negative terminal. This should reset the alarm to valet mode. Programming varies from brand to brand. Contact an alarm dealer and they can help reprogram the remote(s).
