I have a compaq evo 310v and a I used the restore disk to restore it and it wont restore, what should I do,a blue screen comes up

Remove the power cord, Remove the cover then remove the cmos battery from the motherboard. It is a shiny looking battery about the size of a nickel. You will need a flat head screw driver to pop it out. Let it sit out for about 30 minutes. Press and hold the Power Button without the power cord or cmos battery for about 30 seconds. The plug the power cord back in and try going into the bios and see if you can change the AHCI. If not just try loading the operating system without the cmos battery.

If if fails again, put the cmos battery back in. I think maybe one of your memory chips is bad or one of your memory slots is bad. Try using just one of the chips in the Dimm 1 or Dimm A slot, the first slot. Retry loading the operating system and if it fails, try the other memory chip in the slot.

My Vtech V-reader freezes on calibration screen

I just found a solution to this: Turn off the vreader, then press & hold the help "?" button. While holding the "?" button, press power. My system bypassed the calibration step and booted correctly.

How do i fix my vtech storio the screen is just blue and it wont work ?

The blue screen seems to happen when you change the batteries (it's what happened to us). The blue screen indicates that there's a software problem, like when you boot up your computer and for some reason it freezes up. That software needs to be reinstalled. You'll lose anything that was saved on the Storio, but at least you'll get it working again.

vtech could have made it a very simple problem to solve just by adding in their customer support: Blue Screen? follow these steps. But they don't, so here's how:

You'll need an SD card with at least 64mo of free space. If you want to use the one from your camera, transfert all of your pictures to the computer. Everything on the SD card will be erased.

Download the Recovery software from either link below (you can find both on the vtech website, but it took me a while to get there)

For the US version

For the Canadian english version

This is the link to the website itself:

Run the program and follow the instructions (at least those are clear and easy to follow). Mine worked fine after that. And since there's no reset button on the Storio, this is the only way to erase the 100+ drawings that your child saved.

Hope that helps

Screen bright blue, wont turn off or on

Sounds like a Power Management problem.
First unplug the power cord and remove the battery. Leave off for 30 mins, then pop the battery back in and try to power up.
Failing that, follow this link on Apple's site.
