The protection circuit is your amp is turned on by itself or its protecting your speakers from burnt output transistor stage of amplifire circuit.sometimes it happense because of bad solder joints of the printed circuit board.if you are technicaly sound please resolder all the joint of pcb power and putput sections.if you need more help please comeback.
try to do it by yourself.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My Marantz SR-5000 will not power up. All connections seem to be fine. Does this receiver have a fuse?

Doug
Did you ever get this problem resolved? I have a chance to buy one of these from a guy who indicates he's having the same problem, but if fixing is going to be a bit expense, I will pass.

What would work better for Marantz SR 4200 Apple Composite or component cable? In order to play music through the amp as well as watching videos

Component Video is a big step up the food chain in quality. Component Video inputs are for video only, not for audio. I don't see Component Video inputs on the Marantz SR-4200; only Composite and S-Video. S-video would be a step up from Composite and it carries analog stereo sound.

You don't give any clues as to the source's audio capabilities.

Digital Audio of either flavor is preferable. Grab the best possible TV-related audio from your Cable/Satellite box to the Marantz and run a pair of RCA audio cables to your TV just in case you want to watch the weather channel without hi-fi sound.

I need the remote control code numbers for the SR-18 so I can turn it on with my Direct TV remote.Do you know what they are?

the best thing to do is a code search per the directv manual and hope the Marantz powers off when you find the code.

If it turns off, you have won half the battle. Save the code and try turning the Mar back on.
The issue is that these universal satellite remotes are very limited on there funtionality with audio systems.

Keep in mind that if you find a code that turns it on & off, you will probably be limited volume only. If you get those three functions, you are very happy and call it done.

Hope this helps.

This goes for all sounds systems and not only Marantz.

Audio glitch on Marantz SR-19

It's probably not heat due to the Marantz' large frame and heat-synchs.
This could simply be a mismatch of impedance. The amp is 120w per channel, so make sure the speakers can handle this. Check the impedance (ohms) of the speakers and the amp as well. Clipping can be caused by overpowering the speakers, which could damage the speakers in the long-run.
If this is only from 1 source- (i.e.- Blu-ray player or cable) then it could be digital clipping.. This Marantz can decode 96kHz PCM or normal Dolby Digital & DTS. If this is a Blu-ray it may be streaming 192kHz PCM... (but most likely the Marantz will not even attempt to play that audio)
I hope this helps.

No audio

Go to amp set up menu and make sure it knows the cables you are useing,ie-if the dvd is wired with coax for sound go to input set up and tell the amp you are useing this type of cable. If this is not the problem and the sound is going off one device at a time your amp needs to go back to your dealer.
hope this helps.

Martantz SR 3000 - Are there any remote codes

Hi, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. The system does not give us updates on older problems.

Found the manual, and it does have 5 digit codes, Page 2 lists the codes for marantz as 0321, 0269. Hope that helps you.
