Question about Buffalo Technology WHR-G54S Wireless Router (WHR2G54S)

Router stopped working.

I have a WZR2-G300N that has worked great since I purchased it about a year ago. All the lights are on like they have always been but I cannot get any internet signal through it. I hate to go buy another one without making sure this router is defective. Any advice?

    Hi........do you mean the wireless signal has suddenly dropped - or that you can't get on the internet through the router, even if you have a wired connection? Thanks...

Turn off your router.
Turn off your cable-modem (or ADSL adapter).
Wait 10 seconds.
Turn on your cable-modem (or ADSL adapter).
Turn on your router.

If you don't have access:

Turn off your router.
Wait 10 seconds.
Look on the back of the router for a small hole.
Straighten-out a paper-clip (invented in Norway),
and push it into the hole, and hold it in for 10 seconds.
This will "reset" your router to "factory" settings.
(This will lose all your "wireless-security" settings.)
Turn the router on.
From your computer, connect to the router's web-interface.
Re-instate the "wireless-security" settings.

It is possible that a neighbor purchased a wireless access point that it on the same channel and they are competing. Change your wireless channel. You could also try a hard reset. Instructions at D-Link's website. Good luck!

You could try a firmware update, if this is no better it may be time to ask your ISP for new router.

Yes, definitely you can use this router in your home aswell
If u can't access your router then try and reset it and reconfigure it with the help of a disk or Manually.

fingers crossed i maybe able to help you solve the problem if you still have it do you have msn were we can chat to resolve the problem or via email it may be easier

when you connect it to your computer via RJ45 cable right click on the network card and click staus to see your default gateway and is this the same address as you are trying to connect too to change the configurations.

I brought a Buffalo WHR-G300N Wireless N Router, did all the login screen thing, connected all the cables correctly and everything.. but I can't load the IP Address ( 196.182.11.1 .. Not sure if thats...


If you are using the router as an Access Point, 192.168.11.1 wont work unless it is in Router Mode. You should find out LAN IP for the G300N, and use that to access it with username "root"and nothing for the password.

192.168.11.1 is for:
Moderm >>> WHR G300N >>> Computer

LAN IP is required to access
Moderm >>> Router >>> WHR G300N (Access Point Mode) >>> Computer

Well, If You've Had It For Four Years, It Definitely Sounds Like Your Router Has Died So To Speak. Most Routers Only Tend To Last A Few Years Of Being On Constantly. I Would Suggest Buying Another Router Because The Cost Of Repairing This One Really Isn't Worth it. Good Luck, Brodey
