Question about Philips Radio Communications
I can get most of the prompts to work when the screen is awake, but not sure how to get the responses when the screen is asleep. I 've been using the manual buttons or waking the phone, which cancels the whole purpose of the remote. Also I can't get the phone to respond to the lower volume prompt of key press+hold. all the others work when phone is awake. It's just one tap of button then hold down, correct?

There is a metal dome under each button, some time they became warped or inverted and you don't get the actuating contact on the first push but if you keep on pressing it eventually contact will be made and whoalaa actuation happened. If you are technical incline you can replace it with a dome of similar size of a device you no longer have use for, like a remote control, an old car stereo or telephone...ect. Goodluck.

SOURCE: Touch Screen not responding
KIng LeO>> Try re-calibrating the screen, settings>screen> then select "Align Screen". If after you do that, it still doesn't work, try a factory reset.
neldie>> Do a factory reset.
Use a program like PIM Backup (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1806)
Save the backup to your memory card, or back it up and copy it to your computer, the do the Factory Reset. You can then reinstall PIM Backup after the reset and use it to restore most of the stuff on your phone (contacts, call logs, text messages, etc.)
Factory Reset instructions:
•Hold down both soft keys (both above the send and end key's) and use the stylus to push the reset button in between the volume key and micro sd slot. Then the screen will turn on and tell you something to the extent of press "Send" to perform a factory reset. Hit send, and your good to go.

I've had a similiar problem on my calypso. In my case the key pad would go dead after washing or pushing stop after a few minutes. If I unpluged the unit for a few minutes it would work again. This would appear to be in the controller board. I removed the board and inspected it finding no problems. After re-installing the board the washer appears to be working again. My conclusion is that there is a loose connector/connection. I'd suggest you remove and re-install all the connectors on the controller board. This is the board closest to the power chord.
Good Luck, George S.
