SOURCE: How do I remove the stand?
i do not suggest that you try to take apart the stand from the monitor because it is a desktop, hence the name, supposed to be on flat sturdy surfaces, unless the manual gives permission i think thats a bad idea.

SOURCE: Removing the mounting stand
You've probably worked it out by now, but I thought I'd post the answer anyway, for anybody who may come looking in the future......
If you look at the back of the monitor you'll see two screws which can be easily removed. What's not as obvious is the THIRD screw. To get at it you need to remove the top plastic section of the stand; I carefully inserted a blade screwdriver in the groove, then gently twisted it in a few places. There's no need to dismantle the rest of the base.
It was my 12 year-old son's eagle eyes which spotted that third screw. My contribution to this part of his MAME project was figuring out how to get at it.
I hope that helps someone.

The base is removed by peeling off the feet pads to reveal screws that need to be loosed to reveal more of the base removal screws.

This is an old post but for others with the same problem;
There are two plastic snap on covers, one on each side of the stand hinge. Slide each small cover in towards hinge. Pry up each plastic cover. Remove hinge screws, hinge, replace screws, replace plastic covers.

It's usually 2 screw at the base of the TV, at the rear. Loosen or remove the screws and the base should slip right off
