I don't think Vista has a working driver for the T2000 because it was designed for XP..Unless you upgraded the XP you had to Vista. You should install XP back on the laptop then go to (www.mpcdrivers.com)where you can get the exact drivers for your base unit and the XP operating system.Putting XP back on it, is really the only sensible thing to do, to ensure all hardware will be installed ,especially the biometrics. Thanks

Where is the switch on my laptop that turns on wireless receiver

Your functions key on the top of the keyboard will have a blue antena icon on it. Most of the time its F9. You will also see a function key on the bottom left of the keyboard, a blue "Fn" key.

Press Fn and F9 (or the key with antena) together. Your wireless will be on.

Below is the image of the Notebook keyboard, the key to be pressed in highlighted in Red.

If you upgrade your operating system like from windows xp to windows vista, you need to install new hardware driver for your computer like for LAN, webcam, WAN and others because the old driver is only compatible with the old operating system and not with VISTA operating system. Solution would are, download webcam and WAN driver for Windows Vista and install it into your computer. Don't just upgrade your computer because the configuration is not the same with the old operating system. If problem still exist, just upgrade the service pack from 2 to 3. There is available install for upgrading the service pack of each operating system. and surely all your hardwares will function.

I reinstalled Vista on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop and now, my network adapter can not detect any any wireless networks. What can I do?

After the installation of your operating system make sure that the driver of your wireless adapter is also installed. Also you need to check if the wireless switch of your laptop is turned on. If you dont have the driver of your adapter you can download it ath dell support website

Hii have just reinstalled my laptop with the vista operating system and i cant seem to connect to the internet

Did you reinstall from the manufacturer-supplied "System Restore" set of CD/DVD disks, or did you install from a "generic" Microsoft Windows Vista DVD? If the former, then the correct device-drivers for the manufacturer-specific hardware should have been automatically installed; if the latter, you'll need to access the manufacturer's "support & downloads" web-site, using a computer that does have Internet access (and either a USB memory-stick or a CD-writer), and download the correct device-driver, copy it to the memory-stick or to CD-R or CD-RW media, and then install the device-driver, by reading the software from the memory-stick or the CD-disk.

  1. Right click on "My Computer" on the desktop (XP) or on "Computer" on the Vista start menu and click on "Properties".
  2. Locate the "Device Manager" on the left side (Vista) or under the Hardware tab in XP.
  3. Find your Network Card under "Network Adapters" by clicking on the plus sign in front of "Network Adapters". If it's already listed and has a yellow exclamation, bypass the previous step.
  4. Right click your network card and click on "Uninstall"
  5. Once it is done, reboot your machine and Windows should reinstall the drivers automatically.
If it does not automatically install the drivers, you can find the drivers at this link. Put in the model of your desktop/laptop and choose your operating system (Vista/XP/2000)
