not comunicate meaning the cables are not properly connected this is the first step the second maybe you monitor is not working(unlikely) and the last option is that your video card is busted and does not give a signal to the monitor, try the above situations

My mointor just flashes different colors and won't turn off

If you can find a setting for DDC/DI and turn that OFF, this could solve your problem (it did for me).

Description of the setting is included below, but put simply it allows your monitor to communicate with your computer and make adjustments.

From wiki: The Display Data Channel or DDC is a collection of digital communication protocols between a computer display and a graphics adapter that enables the display to communicate its supporteddisplay modes to the adapter and to enable the computer host to adjust monitor parameters, such as brightness and contrast.

After I changed the motherboard of my computer the computer no longer communicates with my Videoseven L19WA monitor. The monitor works fine with another computer.

Try to load the operating system in Safe Mode (press F8 during boot) if the image appears then reinstall the video driver and reboot the computer

There is no communication between my computer and LCD monitor

I would try this monitor with other PC to narrow down the problem first before taking it apart.
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Dell monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Won't communicate with computer

Try connecting another "known-good" monitor to your computer.
If it does not work, it's the video-card on your computer that is the problem.

Try connecting the monitor to the VGA-port on a laptop, or to some other desktop. If it does not work, and if it's under warranty, exercise the warranty. Otherwise, it's dead, and you need to buy a replacement, and responsibly recycle the dead monitor.

My monitor will not come on, the on/off light flashes occasionally and the monitor gives over a very brief light

make sure that your cpu is working. if the cpu is dead, there will be no display in the monitor. If the monitor light is flashing as you said, it could be the CPU not sending video signal to the monitor. also check if the cpu beeps when you start your computer. if not, check your cpu. try to re-seat your RAM modules. this will solve most of these types of problems

No communication from motherboard to monitor

I would also unplug your monitor and re-plug it back in. It could be a bad connection.

Reset factory settings. Push the selection button (second button from the left at the bottom of the monitor, next to the AUTO button), then go the the Factory Reset by pressing the minus button. Press the selection button again, and when it asks if you want to reset say YES by using the minus button. It's a quick fix!
