Ok here's what you do. Hook up your ps3 to your hd via hdmi cable then turn the tv on first. Then turn the power on to your ps3 and switch tv to hdmi. wait a while then a screen should come up and you should see and screen where it says an hdmi device is connected do u want to accept theses settings say yes. sometimes the "handshake" doesn't happen properly. If u already know this or have tried this it could be that your tv needs a firmware update, happened to me.

If your tv output it av (red white and yellow cables and av connection), then make sure you push the cables in properly. If that doesn't work then if you have a ps2, use that av cable and switch it with your ps3 one (theyre both the same). And if your output is hdmi, than either the cable is faulty, the tv or the ps3. And for av connection if none of those options worked then its probably your ps3.
ok first u need to connect ur usb to ur controller then u need to hold ur finger on the power button let it go off 2 times then on th third time it will beep two times real fast then lift ur finger off then press reset system.make sure u have the hdmi and av cables connected so if it does not work u can repeat it over again.this will work
or the previous owner of the ps3 had the settings on the system on HD settings and now the Non-HD TV cannot recognize the signal. In order to change the settings you have to find someone with an HD TV and switch the output settings from HD to AVI
So you are using this cable to connect to the TV? On this cable is there only a red, yellow & white connector? This is known as an S-Video or AV cable.
Can you make sure you are connecting it in the right part of your TV. Once connecting it you will need to select the AV input on your TV or you may need to tune the TV into that input (depending on your TV age/model)
The best connection for the PS3 would be the HDMI cable which is one lead with one connector at either end (though this is for HD TVs only)
if there's absolutely nothing on the TV screen, then most probably the video output is different then the cables you are using (eg: video output HD and you are using AV cables). Are you sure your TV is set correctly? like using HD cable you have to choose HDMI or AV cable choose AV. Anyway, When the PS3 is on, turn it off by pressing and holding the power button on the front (so the light turns red) you will hear beep sound ( I can't remember how many but not once). This should reset the Video output to AV. Swithch to AV cables (if you're using HD). Usually if the system is set to AV output and you switch to HDMI cables, the system recognizes that and swithches to HD output. But if it's set to HD output and you are using AV cables, it doesn't switch back; that is what my system does.
how are you connected to your tv? if your are connected in HD mode (hdmi cable) you will only get a 16:9 picture... SD mode (AV cable, S VIDEO cable, Component AV cable or SCART) will transmit a picture of 16:9 or 4:3 (4:3 being the old 'square screen' mode)
if you have a SD TV. ( standard display, not HD ) but chose the HD display option on system settings you wont see picture but hear sound. and same goes if you've chosen SD display but own a HD TV. so try to reset your system somehow or take it in for inspection.
I have it and it works great!
For all TVs, the TV have to be on fixed settings on standard, dot-by-dot mapping, noise reduction off. The camera's exposure the same for both side-by-side shots.
Just set it on standard and it should work...
