Cadet baseboard heater

If I have your information right you have a black wire and a white wire marked red coming to the heater with 240 volts between them. You have a double pole unit mounted thermostat with a red and a black wire. Most double pole thermostats have two red and two black wires on them so I am not sure if you have a double or a single pole thermostat. There are also two wires going to the baseboard heater. One is connected to the element the other to a high limit switch which is then connected to the other end of the element. If the thermostat is a double pole the two red (or load) wires should connect one to each of the baseboard wires. The two black (line) wires should connect one each to the two incoming power leads. If it is a single pole thermostat the one red wire should connect to one of the baseboard wires the black should connect to one of the incoming power wires the remaining baseboard and power wires should then be connected together. Hope this helps

WIRING A SINGLE PRESET DUAL DIMMER AND FAN SWITCH

Hi *****,

I'm an electrician and can help you with this problem. First - shut off the power. Check your wiring as I describe the connections below.

If this is the only switch operating the fan and light, it should be wired as a single pole in the direction sheet. That is as follows:

1) one black wire - it should be connected to the "hot" power source, 2) one green wire - it should be connected to the bare / green ground wires & switchbox (if metal), 3) one red wire - it should be connected to the fan hot wire, 4) one yellow wire - it should be connected to the light hot wire, the remaining wires (yellow with a "3 way label" and red with a "3 way label") should not be connected to anything and capped with a wirenut.

The wiring changes if you are using a second switch to operate either the fan or light (download & view the wiring diagram provided here to follow along with my text). In this case, the hot wire from the fan or light would connect to the black screw of a standard 3 way switch, and the remaining two terminal screws on the switch would connect to the red / red with 3 way label - or yellow / yellow with 3 way label pair. Power and ground wiring on the dimmer black and green are the same as the single pole wiring described above.
I hope this helps & good luck!

Why does light blink off and on when set at dusk/dawn

If lights blink on-off, then red wire is connected where blue wire should be.
Red wire should be capped, and not used when timer is used for single pole operation.
OR connect red wire and blue wire together if you want Dawn-to-dusk operation instead of dusk-to-dawn

The 3 way switches I purchased say to hook the hot wire to the dark colored screw but it is not in the location on the switch show in the diagram. Do I use the dark color screw or the position shown on the...

the darker colored screw is always the hot terminal no matter what, and the other silver or lighter colored are for the traveler pair to the other 3way switch,if the switch and diagram seem to differ, you can go to the manufacturers website and contact them for further info on this question,it could also be the wrong diagram with this particular switch unless its marked identical on both the switch and diagram

In the Intermatic ST01C, what is the function of the red wire in a two-switch set-up, which [after the second switch] goes to the same place as the [timer-switched] blue wire?

ST01C is battery operated timer with red, blue, black & green wire.
Red wire is used when replacing 3-way switch (for ex: light switch at each end of hall)

Red wire is capped off when replacing single-pole switch.

If red and black wires are combined, lights will blink.

If red and blue wires are combined, timer reverses ON-OFF function (just like a 3-way switch reverses).

What color plug where i ve got three colors blue, red, black

If I understand correctly, you are replacing a switch with the EJ500 timer.
You mention a 'plug'

The EJ500 has 3 wires: Black Red Blue.
If you are replacing a single-pole switch:
The switch has 2 wires, one of these wires is the Hot-from-breaker and the other wire goes to Load:
Timer-black connects to Hot-from-breaker.
Timer-blue connects to wire-going-to-Load.
Timer-red wire is capped off. Red is not used for single pole switch.
If you connect wires and your lights blink, then you put the red wire where the blues wire should go.
If you connect wires and lights do not operate, try reversing the blue and black wires.

I posted images of EJ500 wiring (the Intermatic EJ500 and ST01C have identical wiring
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html#ST01C

If you are replacing a 3-way switch, the wiring is more complicated.
The EJ500 can not replace a 3-way switch wire-for-wire.
Diagrams on link above show wiring for 3-way.

My switch has only a white wire (hot) and a black wire (neutral). Witch one dose the red wire connect to?

I answer questions for free
I specialize in timers and electrical devices
If you have a different timer than the one shown below, add a comment with your timer model and I will help.
Different timers use the red wire differently.

You posted under Intermatic ST01C.
If the ST01C is your timer, then the red wire is capped off.
The black-timer wire connects to black wire.
The blue-timer wire connects to white wire.

IF the timer does not work after wiring, then try reversing the blue and black wires.

The following photo shows the EJ500 timer which is wired exactly like the ST01C

The following link shows several wiring diagrams for the ST01C and EJ500 timers

I have a jenn-air wall oven it has a red wire a black wire a white wire and a copper wire but coming out of my wall is only a red/black and copper what dose the white wire go to please help thank you

IF you nhave a 3 wire feed fronm the house for your range, you connect the red and black for the power and then use the copper wire from the wall to connect to the white and copper wires from the range. All new construction must have a 4 wire feed to a range and dryer.

all you have to do is (a) open the connection box of the motor look for the two wires of the starting or running coil, inverse only one coil wire.(a) If there is no centrifugal switch in the rotor, try this it might help open the motor both end, change the direction of the shaft ,which i mean pulley side goes to fan side and fan side goes to pulley side and tighten all bolts.
