I am after a manual for my Singer 1832U machine. I am having problems with looper threads snapping

Singer 1832U Manuals

Usually, breaking threads are a result of misthreading. Remove all the threads from the machine. AVOID old or bargain bin threads! ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning--make sure each thread is threaded in the proper order.

Why does'n the needle catch the bobbin thread on Necchi BU Nova

Your hook is moving correctly. Not all machines do a continuous circle. If it's not catching the thread, the timing is off. It's a great machine, and worth every penny to have it serviced.

Thread very old Singer

Thread the tension assembly, then the take up arm (the thing that goes up and down when you turn the hand wheel), then the needle. Everything else are thread guides. They will be along the paths leading to those main components.

I have a simple singer and I don't now how to thread the upper thread! I get stuck in the part where the manual asks to put the thread trought the take-up lever because I can't find the the take-up...

The take up lever is right up front, the unit that goes up and down when you turn the wheel on the right, it usually has an eye or a quick threading loop. After that, it goes down, and under that circular 'thing' there, then to the needle, I hope this isn't too confusing.

Can't figure out how to thread lower looper...please help. thx.

Go to www.sewusa.com and they have a diagram on threading a Singer overlocker, 14U-444B/454/B and it is close enough to see how it goes. It helped me out, I have a 14U64B, (older model). It was confusing because the drawing on my machine and the owner instruction book did not match, even though that is the book that came with it when I bought it new. So, I was never getting it threaded right until I looked at this site. I hope that it works for you, too, Good luck.

I can pull the thread from the spool out

I solved this problem by buying a new Apollo Singer bobbin. It was $12.00 at a local sewing machine store. This bobbin is everywhere, since it goes with about 30 Singer sewing machine models.

I had to do a little adjusting to the new bobbin. 1/3 of a turn loosening the tiny screws.

Inserting needle on old singer machine

Hi Terry--

If your machine is 40-50 years old, it might be a Singer Featherweight portable. (If it is, you have one of the very best machines ever made!) On the Featherweights, the flat of the needle faces left (and the needle is threaded from right to left). The bobbin goes in a bobbin case; you'll see a small notch when you look down on the bobbin in the case. That's where the thread goes. I'll email you direct with more information.
