I would give the same description as the others on the card error. Bought a new one, camera locks up on all buttons except pressing to format card, which jumps right to card error message. Nothing works to fix this. Has anyone contacted Olympus, if that's an option?

I have the same problem with a card error on a new memory card. I don't see a solution. Can anyone help?

#1 Problem Power on button did not work. Sent camera to Fujifilm service and was fixed for $80.00 usd. Received camera and pressed power on, works great.
#2 New problem. Card Error. Changed card. Same Result, Card error. I have charged battery, been thru entire menu and even reset to original. Tried format but seems short in time. About 2 sec. and card error in tour face again. Before I send camera back to Fujiidiot, any suggestions welcome.

I have same camera, just bought fuji XD N type 1gb memory card, but camera shows card error.
Does this new card need to be formatted or something?

go to your menu on your camera click reset all settings see how that works!!!

Carefully clean the card contacts.
put a piece of paper around the card and insert it and holding one end of the paper pull the card in and out thus polishing the contact in the camera- take great care here.
Remove paper
Now try
what happens?
?
