Question about Televison & Video

E Motion LCD TV Model X26/29E won't turn on - seems stuck in standby (red light on). Remote control is OK.

This problem started as an occasional fault, which could be cured by turnrng mains off, then on.

My sisters e-motion lcd tv is locked in, standby mode. I think that replacing the psu (power supply unit) is the answer. but be careful of introducing static damage to the components as you can cause latent component damage and then future repair is not so easy to locate! always make sure that you fault find using the proses of elimination ie start from the begining !! Make sure you have a 240v supply going in and then probe for your outputs.. If your out put measurements are ok then you can eliminate your power supply unit as your problem circuit .....

I think you are looking at a power board problem. I had the same thing happen to a Vizio and I replaced the power board and it solved the problem. It could also be the input board but most likely the power board.

Thanks,
Ced

My civic without any rhymne or reason occasionally won't start

Depending upon how much mileage is on the starter, it could be the source of your trouble.

Why does it start only occasionally?

It could be the coil, yes .. but it could also be a number of other things such as fuel/fuel pump/sensors.

Don't spend money replacing parts one after the other in the hope that it will cure the problem. Go to a workshop and ask them to run a diagnostic check to identify the fault. This really is the most effective and cheapest way of doing things.

Alternatively, give a mobile mechanic a call. Those guys are usually very good

My LG TV red light won't turn on. although the plug fuse and the remote OK

Try manually pressing the power/standby button on the tv (side or bottom) the red light should appear, most modern tv's will turn on simply by pressing the channel up or down on the tv itself.. But unfortunately in most cases, this seems to be an internal surge and needs a professional to inspect..

Looking for a sky remote control code for beko.

Hello
The three digit Sky remote code for Beco TV are:

514 398 065

Four digit code is:

0125

1* Turn your TV and SkyHD box on and press tv on your remote control.

2* Hold down select and the red button together until the red light on your remote

control blinks twice (this is after about two seconds).

3* Press tv again.

4* Key in your TV's brand code. The light on your remote control blinks twice.

5* Press standby on your remote control.

If your TV switches off, press select.

The light on your remote control should blink twice.

If your TV does not switch off, press tv, then press standby.

Repeat the sequence of pressing tv then standby until the TV switches off,

then press select.

If the light blinks three times, your remote control has checked all the possible

settings for the code you used. Check you have the right code and start again

at step 1.

*6 Turn your TV back on and press the tv guide button on your remote control.

The TV Guide screen appears, meaning the remote control settings have
been reset.

Why does my Panasonic Plasma television: THP42U20A stay on standby and will not go on?

All modern flat screen tv's have protection circuits in them. This is why they don't start up immediately. When you first switch on, the protection circuit looks around main areas for possible faults. If none are detected, the set will then usually start. If on the other hand there is a fault condition, the protect circuit will not allow the set to start, to prevent possble damage. Occasionally however the micrprocessor can become confused by mains voltage or other spikes. In this case, turn off at the wall or unplug the set for say 5 minutes, then plug in and try again. this will force a reset. If that doesn't work, you will need proffessional assistance. Good luck!
